With stunning views of the Lancashire countryside from atop Parbold Hill, Miller & Carter – Parbold is a cosy, informal steakhouse with a contemporary design & a large terrace for summer al fresco dining. Specialising in succulent, hand-cut, 28-day aged steaks, the restaurant sources all its meat from sustainable British farms.
The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grass-fed Ribeye, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and a pork fillet wrapped in bacon with apple 3 ways served with dauphinoise potato, green beans and roasted Mediterranean-style vegetables.
To finish, sweet indulgences include chocolate hazelnut bomb, an indulgent, rich chocolate ganache encased in toasted hazelnuts and chocolate nibs, served with pecan praline ice cream and zesty orange curd. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.
Miller & Carter – Parbold in Wigan is a 3-minute drive from Parbold Rail Station.

We had decided to go because of the offer it showed saying 3 courses for £14.00 until 6.30pm. I booked in early 5.30pm to make sure we weren't on the last minute and we were told that we must have read the offer wrong it's only till Monday to Thursday (it was a Saturday) and that on Saturday it was only till 5pm. Not impressed to say the least, the manager didn't even bother to come and see us and there was no signal so we couldn't re check the offer. I felt totally duped, and spent far more than I set out to. If I hadn't come all the way to Parbold from Preston we would have left . Whilst the food was okay the service was slow.

Really enjoyable evening. The service, food and drink could not be faulted.

Great food - not much character or ambiance for such an historic place

I booked the table for 12.30 by 1.45 only the starter had been served. The waitress informed us that a table of thirty five had just beaten our order to the kitchen and the kitchen couldn't begin any other orders.
Although we were the first table occupied in the area other tables were being served ahead of us by a different waitress, did she have priority in the kitchen ??
We needed to leave the restaurant by 2.40 due to school run pick ups and consequently didn't have time for dessert.
Clearly the kitchen isn't set up for a table of thirty five so such large bookings shouldn't be taken.
The food was delicious but marred by the poor kitchen service

Great atmosphere, and local view outstanding. The brisket was divine.

We booked on Monday for lunch, no problem booking, we were offered a choice of table in the conservatory area which was excellent for us, we usually dine in this area. Favourite dish steak cooked to perfection with service to match.

It was an excellent experience. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating of my friends food allergies to ensure she got what she could have.

The welcome left something wanting and the service generally was rushed and not empathetic. The food was quite good with the Rib Eye steak being excellant. It was a good atmosphere so would be a good place to meet friends.
