Loved our pre Christmas lunch. We were looked after by Gary who was very knowledgeable about the menu.

Miller & Carter Newton Mearns showcases a menu full of exquisitely cuts steaks rich in flavour. In the dining space, shades of red and brown take over and bovine artwork reinforces the classic steakhouse tag.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable Scottish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grain-fed sirloin, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and lemon & rosemary lamb rump served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed exotic mushrooms & tenderstem broccoli.

To finish, sweet indulgences include Miller’s chocolate orange: a shimmering golden globe with ganache and orange toffee. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Located just off the M77 Motorway, Miller & Carter in Glasgow is a 12-minute walk from Patterton Rail Station.

Great restaurant with perfect melt in the mouth steak. Nice pleasant attentive staff. If any complaints the second cocktail wasn’t anywhere near as nice as the first one.

We had booked a table for 7.30. When we arrived we had to stand at desk for about 5 minutes before anyone appeared. We were then told they were running behind & we could go into the bar for a drink and we would be called when a table was free. We didn't really want to have a drink at that stage. The bar was very busy & there were no seats, so we had to stand. I went to ask how the manager would find us but he assured me he would. I then noticed lots of other people were waiting but they had a buzzer. It came to 8.15 and we were still waiting, one of my friends went to check on position & said we really needed to eat. The manager said he would get us a table & we were taken into the furthest away section from the bar where there were about 3 empty tables. As soon as we entered we felt it was cold & my friend said she couldn't take her coat off. My friends husband went to see if there was another table in the adjoining area which was warmer. We sat down at a table which was just being cleared. When the manager passed he said 'you have moved?' & raised his eyes obviously not pleased! We then had to wait a considerable time before our order was taken. We all had Bistro Rump Steaks, cooked medium as recommended by the menu & the waitress. I was not very impressed, I thought it was dry and the texture was too firm. I was very disappointed as this was my first visit to a Miller & Carter & my friends had been to other branches & had enjoyed the food etc & recommended it which was why I had been keen to try. My friends have said they would definitely not return to the Newton Mearns branch. I have had far more tender, juicier rump steaks in the Beefeater or cooked by myself, it was certainly not worth the money. There were quite a number of disgruntled people who had to wait well past their booking time just like us. The organisation seemed very poor.
I have to tell you that I never normally complete an on line comment about a restaurant, but our experience was bad.

We had a wonderful dinner at Miller & Carter on Wednesday evening, 20 December 2017. The Restaurant is beautifully decorated and the tables aren’t too close together, which allows for a bit of privacy whilst dining. The Staff are very professional, friendly and very helpful. Nothing seems to be too much of a bother for them. We all had rib eye steaks, which were fantastic - so succulent, juicy and you could tell they use good quality meat.

The steak was perfectly cooked, the staff were very efficient and helpful and the ambience was nice too. My only slight complaint was that the steak had some fatty areas, which were a bit “chewy”, but still tasted delicious.

Food and service was very good, the only negative after what looked like a busy afternoon there was cocktail sticks and food on the floor clearly left by previous patrons, several staff members walked past but made no attempt to tidy up.
