Set in a 19th-century public house known locally as The Dick Turpin, Miller & Carter – Newbury Park Ilford specialises in serving succulent, hand-cut, 28-day aged steaks sourced from sustainable British farms. With a covered terrace for sunny al fresco dining in warm weather, and with a sizeable dining room & bar, the steakhouse boasts an informal, urban vibe.
The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grass-fed Ribeye, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and a pork fillet wrapped in bacon with apple 3 ways served with dauphinoise potato, green beans and roasted Mediterranean-style vegetables.
To finish, sweet indulgences include chocolate hazelnut bomb, an indulgent, rich chocolate ganache encased in toasted hazelnuts and chocolate nibs, served with pecan praline ice cream and zesty orange curd. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.
Miller & Carter – Newbury Park in Ilford is a 3-minute drive from Newbury Park Tube Station.

Had great feed on Saturday waitress was very good especially as she was quite busy. The food was fantastic and arrived without having to wait too long or courses on top of each other.

Fantastic food and service. Portions are generous and there is lots of choice on the menu so even the fussiest diner is happy.

Our waitress disappeared for over 15 minutes no sighting of her, yet she insisted she walked past us 3 times.. .I know she did not as I was watching keenly to grab her to order a drink! She brought back cold garlic bread despite me asking if it was straight from the chef...which she insisted it was...i think she told a few porkies!! However the main although too soon after the starter which we hadn't finished was great food. We did get the garlic bread taken off the bill...they're insistance not ours.
We are regulars so appreciated it.
I work in a job that is all about the needs of the customer so I notice slack service very quickly! My bug bear the staff take your order than take too long to return.

We have been customers at Miller and Carter, Newbury Park for a number of years and have, in the past, always enjoyed our meals there. Unfortunately the last couple of times we have been, the experience has not been so good. On this occasion we ordered three main meals, none of which were available, so we had to make other choices. The only similar steaks were the more expensive ones. (This had also happened on our last visit, a few months ago). This would not be too much of a problem if it were a one off and the meals are cooked well. Sadly, my wife had the salmon, which, as she ate it , was dry and over cooked and both my son and I, had different steaks. We asked for them to be cooked in the way the menu recommends, and the way we like them, which is medium. Both were over cooked and, I would say, very well done. At the end of the meal we told the waitress about the fish, and, she said, had we told her at the start, the food would have been changed. I am not a person of unreasonably high standards but I was extremely disappointed that none of the meals, all three being different, were cooked well. I personally do not like the idea of sending a meal (let alone 3) back to the chef for a second attempt, so would not do it. Most staff were helpful and friendly and our waitress was very attentive, however, this is wasted, when the standard of food spoiled the night. The final thing that should be noted. At the end of the meal, I assume our waitress was busy and a different waitress came up and asked if we would like to see the desert menu, after a short discussion, we declined and she left. We were then debating whether to have a cocktail or coffee to finish the evening (our wedding Anniversary) when, she returned with the bill, which we had not asked for? So I paid it and left Disappointed with the night.

Everything excellent: as usual. Why have I, apparently, been deleted from your Birthday List?

My meat was very undercooked so I sent it back, received it again to find it had browned a bit more inside but not fully (I asked for it to be done Medium). Service was very slow (15-20 mins for drinks to arrive after ordering). Quite disappointed really.
