Lovely food, great value if you do the early bird deals. Burgers were fab so were the chips. Good size meals and lovely apple crumble desert. Steak a bit tough but other than that couldn't fault our family experience. Tom the waiter was very friendly too!

With a large, leafy terrace for sun-soaked summer wining & dining, Miller & Carter – Cheshire specialises in succulent, melt-in-the-mouth steaks sourced from sustainable British farms. With chocolate-brown walls, dark brown furniture & bright red accents, the steakhouse boasts an upscale yet informal urban vibe.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grain-fed sirloin, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and lemon & rosemary lamb rump served with dauphinoise potatoes, sautéed exotic mushrooms & tenderstem broccoli.

To finish, sweet indulgences include Miller’s chocolate orange: a shimmering golden globe with ganache and orange toffee. The Miller & Carter cellar is brimming with drinks designed to complement the menu, including chilled draught and bottled beers, crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list of rich reds and sparkling wines.

Miller & Carter – Cheshire is a 5-minute drive from Ellesmere Port Rail Station.

Food was lovely, atmosPierre was great too. We had a server who was abrupt and kind of condescending. Maybe it was her sense of humour, I don’t know. Not interested in going back to M&C again.

Our dining experience on this occasion was dreadful. When we advised our server who could not persuade us to have our steaks medium as we wanted them medium/welldone we were told they would take 40 mins to cook! We did indeed wait over 50 mins for our steaks (we got our meals after tables who had arrived after us) but unfortunately my wifes steak and half a lobster were stone cold (even the herb butter on top remained solid....a clear indication I would have thought the server/chef would have picked up on that the food was cold). We advised the server who apologised and said he would take back to the kitchen. He came back and said that my wifes food would take a further 10 minutes and offered a free drink. I found it very upsetting that I was eating my food and my wife wasnt. As my wife was very upset she decided to cancel her order.....she did not want to eat after I had finished mine. Our server said that he would remove my wifes food cost from our bill.....it felt like he was doing us a favour! At the end of the day my wife DID NOT get her food, of course we werent going to be charged for it! I can honestly say that you ruined a very special night for us.....you have really casted doubts on whether we will ever venture back.

Best feature the interior however before sitting at the table did point out to the manager that there was food on the floor he didn't seem bothered. The server smiled. The food I would describe as being frozen supermarket food put in a deep fat fryer not fresh. I may aswell just got a Captain Birds Eye frozen fish and a frozen packet of calamari and added the salt and pepper myself. The food presented to my husband was a steak on the chips which is not the way steak should be served. His starter of garlic mushroom went back as there was no flavour of garlic and then he was presented with his starter again it was the same dish with some garlic sauce added and his half eaten garlic bread. The dish it came in made it difficult to eat and a spoon would of been easier. At this point we decided not to bother with dessert. In my opionion this is an expensive Weatherspoons but at least you know what to expect and has a wider choice of beer at a reasonable price.
