A grand pub and steakhouse backing onto a large open green space, Miller & Carter Basingstoke serves a great selection of British steaks and other grill specialities. There is plenty of al fresco seating to enjoy dining in the sunshine, and an extensive drinks menu filled with fine wines and classic cocktails.

The Miller & Carter menu is led by hand-cut, 30-day aged steaks, all carefully sourced from sustainable British & Irish farms, and expertly cooked. Favourite cuts span from a deliciously tender grass-fed Ribeye, aged for 50 days for a rich, buttery flavour, to a luxurious sharing chateaubriand. Other Miller & Carter signature dishes include smoky barbecue ribs with seasoned fries & dressed slaw, and a pork fillet wrapped in bacon with apple 3 ways served with dauphinoise potato, green beans and roasted Mediterranean-style vegetables.

To finish, sweet indulgences include chocolate hazelnut bomb, an indulgent, rich chocolate ganache encased in toasted hazelnuts and chocolate nibs, served with pecan praline ice cream and zesty orange curd.     The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and melt in the mouth. My only criticism was that there was 6 of us and we we rather squashed eating in a booth. But this would not stop me eating there again.

    We came for my sons birthday, a very busy night (valentines weekend) service was good, unfortunately the veggie burger wasn’t cooked (they did remove from the bill) but everything else was fine.

    Wonderful food throughout, we started with the shared taster board particularly liked the calamari,s
    Both had T bone steaks which were cooked exactly as requested and delicious to eat. The selection of different sauces complimented the steaks perfectly, I had black pepper my wife had porcine mushroom.
    Would love to have had dessert but but starter and main course being sufficient.
    All washed down with very pleasant bottle of Rioca Vino Tinta

    This was our first time at one of your restaurants and we were really pleased, the decor and atmosphere was great. The staff were really helpful and very friendly. We chose from the festive menu, and enjoyed our meal very much.

    Food was great. But our waiter (Jose?) was “too friendly” to the point where we felt a bit uncomfortable, he was clearly listening to our conversation for a lot of our time there and getting involved in the discussion which both my date and I agreed was pretty weird, at one point i made a joke about her having the last bite of our shared dessert and he jokingly cupped his hands in front of her asking if she wanted to spit it out, which was going way too far. It almost felt like he was trying to make out like he was a 3rd guest at the table for what was meant to be a nice private meal for two, and he stared at my date a lot, to the point where she asked me if she had something on her face.

    One of the staff also started hoovering in the room, which wasn’t a big deal but we found it quite odd.

    Food was good but we were sat on table near kitchen and the draw from extractor fans made it a cold place to sit after eating our starters we were so cold so when our main course was bought out we asked to be moved to another table which we was accommodated with but it spoilt an enjoyable meal

    This was our first visit to Basingstoke branch and we were not disappointed. The decor is perfect. We were in the left hand side and I was pleased as I found it quite cold near the kitchen. It was a Friday night so was busy you would need to book. Our waitress was excellent gave us our space but did pop over to check we doing okay. We didn't have starters. My fillet was done perfectly. The other 2 had the Black Angus sirloin, which again was cooked to order (perfectly) and both of them enjoyed the steak as not had that one before and both agreed it was full of flavour. We all had puddings and coffee and have to say all food was excellent. We will be back for sure.
