My mother and I arrived 10 minutes early for Mother’s Day lunch, were seated in the lounge while we waited for our other guests to arrive. We were offered drinks twice, but we said that we’d order once our guests arrived. Once they arrived there was no sign of the waiting staff. I was asked three times what name it was booked in and I even showed them my email confirmation at which point they then started to prepare our table. We asked for a high chair for the little one and after waiting twenty minutes we asked if our table was ready, it was and we were shown through to a very empty orangery - not sure why it took so long to get the table ready (which had no high chair nor napkins) and we held the little one while we waited for a high chair. We asked for napkins and were finally asked what drinks we wanted - no staff communication as both waiters asked us the question. Food was nice but very overpriced. After we finished there was no sign of the staff again so we ended up paying at the bar and leaving. Shame - the service really let down this beautiful hotel.
