Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Mercante at The Sheraton Park Lane brings a fresh take on Italian dining to Mayfair. Packed with seasonal produce, dishes are served in the large indoor dining room or on the south-facing terrace.

Created by head chef Davide D’ignazio, the Mercante restaurant menu draws upon his experience at top Michelin-starred restaurants in Rome. Various Italian regions are reflected in dishes such as roast pigeon risotto, handmade gnocchi with roast duck ragu, and sautéed mussels and clams.

Finish a meal at Mercante Piccadilly with rich desserts like prosecco semifreddo with sour cherries, or a classic tiramisù. The wine list offers bottles from across Italy, whilst Italian wines and classic cocktails are also served.

Showcasing authentic Italian produce, Mercante London sits on the edge of Green Park, a short stroll from both Green Park and Hyde Park Corner Tube stations.

Very nice service, plentiful drinks, good food. had to wait for one starter but made up for by generous extra drinks and coffees.

We've booked for the London Restaurant Festival menu, and i know that we won't be presented with the best features, but nothing from the chosen items impressed us. It wasn't bad, just nothing special, nothing that I expect coming from a professional kitchen. Staff were nice enough, and I don't mind that a glass of water was spilled on my lap but when they forgot some of our orders, it wasn't easy to reorder them, because they were mostly absent. Just as their manager, that I haven't had a chance to glance at, or to give some of what might be a constructive feedback. Nothing terrible, just disappointing.

Met a group of old school friends here on a Saturday lunch time. The waiter Sebastian was extremely attentive and helpful and very very patient considering we were all very loud and chattering. Explained all the dishes to us. Ensured our prosecco glasses were kept topped up as we had the bottomless prosecco deal. I ordered the croissant with parma ham and mozzarella, which was tasty but very dry. Meatball main course was nice, but had to ask for bread as no pasta. Lastly had the tiramisu for dessert which was lovely. All in all good value for £35. Shame there weren't more people in the restaurant but to be honest we were so involved in our own company that it wasn't that important. Would definitely go back.

The interior and exterior of the restaurant were well designed and created a great atmosphere for dining. The staff were friendly and although we had to wait a while to get our bill, I can't complain about the service. The food was delicious and although fairly small portions very filling. Definitely go back again, kept out prosecco glasses full !!!

I went there for my birthday as it was close to The Royal Academy (where we were going later that day) and also to West End.
Me and my partner had what was called "working lunch" - set menu of 3 courses for less than £20. The food was decent, but nothing really stood out, it was mediocre.
On hearing, that it was my birthday, the waitress brought a plate with a three small lovely cakes - and it was a very nice gesture.

The decor was a little confusing - there were some interesting old photographs on the walls and some older pieces of furniture - like the old meat cutting machine - but this effect was spoiled boy a bright yellow leather seats and too bright lights. I think there was no visual unity in the whole interior design, things and colours did not match - the place does not have an "atmosphere", it is more like an American diner instead of an Italian taverna, unfortunately. It is a kind of place that you just want to have a meal and go, without lingering longer...perhaps it was intended ?

I would not go back there because I did not find anything (both food and interior) that would make me to want to go there again.

Really relaxed atmosphere that complemented the friendly and relaxed service. Food was excellent and we left suitably full after 3 courses. Would definTely come back.
