    The food was okay, the feasting menu is a fun idea.

    We really enjoyed Mennula. The food and the wine were superb and the napery and table ware were superb too and the ambiance lively and welcoming. The menu interesting and varied as was the wine list. The service was cheerful and helpful but a bit wayward at times, but they were frantically busy. We had a fantastic time.

    We went here as part of the London Restaurant Festival experience and it was the second time out of two that we were disappointed. Food that was so boring I couldn't even be bothered getting through it. It was as if my body said - "they don't care". Head waiter much more interested in facebook than anyone in the (I must admit pretty empty) Sunday afternoon restaurant. And I don't blame him - facebook was the most exciting thing there! Lobster linguine(?) looked beautiful and the lobster was cooked wonderfully, but everything else about the dish was yawn inducing. No depth of flavour whatsoever, no acidity, no lovely herbs, nothing. Do yourself a favour and go to [...] - orders of magnitude better.

    We went for dinner and the manager greeted us when we arrived and brought us some delicious roasted almonds, after that everything went downhill. I went to the toilet to find a massive cockroach on the door which of course they didn't find later when I told him to. The food for me was average going to the poor side but I think my judgement was clouded by the worst service I've received in my life. The waiter was extremely rude (huge contrast from the super nice manager) and when we asked to have a new glass for our new bottle of wine (not to mix wines) he stood there looking at us with a gringe that could only mean he thought we were stupid. After a far from desireable meal (I left all my food and noboy asked if everything was ok) a very nice girl brings us the dessert list and before we could say if we wanted one or not, the waiter comes back and just takes the menus whithout even looking at us. I know this will sound horrible, but we even asked the manager to remove the service charge since we refused to pay for being treated like that. In the end we paid 6% service because the manager and waitress were lovely people, sadly we interacted mainly with the waiter.
