A most enjoyable experience all round. So lovely to come out of the theatre and have dinner on the premises. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and so attentive throughout the meal. Service was excellent with attention paid to the detail of our order. The restaurant has great character with vibes from another era. The meal was fantastic from the onion soup, onion and bacon tart and the Coq au Vin, which all four of us selected, to the variety of desserts. My only complaint every time is the sparce amount of chocolate sauce with the brownie! Come on! this was a chocolate factory therefore the chocolate sauce should be flowing - please. For our friends it was their first visit and they were enchanted by the whole experience and I am sure will visit again. Certainly we will as we are regulars to the shows as well and we just love being there..

We chose the menu devised for The Boyfriend. The savoury tart to start with was tasty. My coq au vin was disappointing with one very large chicken breast which should have been cut smaller when raw to absorb the flavours. The rest was tiny bones and the button onions were almost raw as if added at the last minute. The themed meal we had before Fiddler on the Roof was definitely better. My friend had the sea bream and was happier. The service was excellent however.

Very good food and ambience but annoyed at the 'compulsory' 12.5% service charge

First time we've eaten here. Nice ambience. Had The Boy Friend menu.Very reasonable price. Onion soup was liked as was the bacon tarte, although that was slightly on the minimalist side for this reviewer. Coq au vin went down well ( an extra spud or two would have been nice.} Poire Helene was very good. Excellent Argentinian Malbec. Was service 12.5% ? My host thought it a bit steep.
