The team at Mela know they are trying to sell quality distinctive meals to a market predominantly wanting a post booze up gut filler at a low price. They provide consistently high quality meals which are reliable and replicate the same tastes continuously. The best restaurant for miles!

My wife & dined at Mela Redhill for our wedding anniversary. Our table was booked for 8pm, although the restaurant was empty, just 4 tables of diners, there was still an atmosphere & the staff were superb, very attentitive. The food quality is outstanding, very fresh ingredients and the presentation exceptional. You can taste the difference, their naan breads were the best I have ever tasted. Overall a must, very clean and simple to look at but the whole evening was most memorable, we would certainly return and reccommend Mela to friends and family!

Bland food, hot but lacking in any distinct flavour. Our starters of Piri Piri prawns and a Calamari dish both tasted the same and were swimming in a tomato sauce so we literally had to fish to find them! The paratha I ordered turned out to be a burnt nan bread, hidden under my partner's roti and our main dishes were also disappointing.

Excellent all round except for the unadvertised service charge outomatically addded to the bill. I prefer to pay the advertised price and leave a discretionary tip. Bad idea, their [$] service charge cost them a [$] tip.

We went to the Mela soon after it opened in Redhill. they boasted that Lord Webber rated it as the "Best Indian food he'd ever had" I'm afraid we didn't agree. The food tasted to me like it had been prepared somewhere else and just re-heated in a microwave. I asked for a simple side dish, which proved a problem for them ?? If all food is / was prepared fresh then why couldn't they make an Aloo gobi ?? In fairness we did get the side dish, but it wasn't up to standard. There are better Indian restaurants around which are far cheaper too.

Very poor service, Waiters and waitresses kept their eyes down so they didn't see you. Very slow service. Food average, ok for avarage food if you have the time, but not that good value.

The meal was faultless, fab food. The venue was great. It's only flaw is the food is way overpriced!
