Maze has a small menu with an emphasis on beef but there is a chicken and fish offering and wonderful sushi as well as a veg option. The food is well sourced, well and straightforwardly prepared and the starters are different and creative. The staff is friendly and doggies are welcome.

This is a simply but tastefully furnished restaurant on the Royal Hospital Road. We had the 3 course summer set menu. Our starters were the tomato soup which is possibly too spicy for some and the sushi salmon with ginger which was excellent. Three of us had the steak which was beautifully cooked and served with a tomato puree, whilst the chicken burger was again a little too hot to handle. No veg or sides came with these which I feel is a mistake as the added triple cooked chips added £25 to our bill for 4 which gives a false impression to diners looking for a good meal that will not blow a hole in your wallet. The desserts of chocolate mousse cake and the cheese cake were nice. Wine was pleasant but a little expensive. The bill came to £40 per head with one our 4 being teetotal.

Nice food, good service. Washrooms need to be fresher.

Very disappointing Sunday lunch, beef was full of gristle.yorkshire puddings cold and like a crisp, gravy was tasty but glutinous and serving cold potato salad with a roast lunch was peculiar to say the least . Complaint to Manager was accepted well and the bill was reduced .Such a shame as our first visit was excellent .We were assured it was the same chef, maybe an off day .Wouldnt risk going again

Great service and food, especially when considering that we arrived not before 11p...

Excellent steak. Superb Malbec. Vegetable side dishes too small though at £5 a pop although we were sharing. Way smaller interior than I was expecting. Managed to book the morning online before lunch but people were being turned away without booking.

Delicious!!! Fettuccine with truffles are one of my favorites. The US Prime T-Bone Steak was very tasteful. And the Chocolate Cake was amazing. The best ever.

Attractive place, but slow service and indifferent food. A restaurant should never insist on serving hamburger only well done.

I made this booking at the last minute as it was close to where I was going to be with my sister for a special event. I was very surprised to find that we were the only diners for lunch that day and sadly that had a significant effect on our dining experience. We felt that throughout the time that we were there the waitress just 'hovered' by the table just looking for something to do. We felt our conversations were being overheard and there was a complete lack of privacy. The waitress sadly had an accident with a glass a champagne which ended up all over our table, feet and my mobile phone just after we arrived and that set the tone for the lunch. The food portions were very generous but for me most of the food was over seasoned and too salty. I had the lamb chops and my sister had the baby chicken, neither of which come with any sides so you have to order them separately, hence the rather large bill when it arrived. To my surprise we hadn't been given any discount on our bill for the inconvenience we had suffered with the champagne incident, my experience in other restaurants would be that we would have a free drink each. I did not make a fuss when paying the bill as this was a special lunch with my sister and it wouldn't have been appropriate. Would I go again, the answer is no and that says it all.
Star Deal - 3 courses including choice of a rare breed steak with a glass of champagne £55 per person
