Lovely meal with fabulous friendly service. Loved the burgers and quirky cocktails. Great seats upstairs, definitely will come back and soon.

One of Covent Garden's most established restaurants, Maxwell's Bar & Grill first opened in London in the early 1970s and still remains a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike.

Housed within a grand building, Maxwell’s restaurant is set over 2 spacious floors in the fashionable Covent Garden area. Favourites on the Maxwell's menu include signature burgers, fajitas, wings, baby back ribs and the famous freakshakes.

The downstairs bar Cocktail Baby serves up a cocktail list full of original takes on the classics.

Less than 1 minute’s walk from Covent Garden Tube Station, Maxwell’s offers a vibrant dining experience, with an authentic and welcoming charm.

Very good food and plenty of it. £9 for a cocktail that was very small was ridiculous price. Had I not asked for just one ice cube there would hardly have been any drink in the glass. It came out first with lots of ice so I know this would have been the case. It was the gin based one with 3 grapes on a cocktail stick. Be more realistic with your pricing or put it in a larger glass. I appreciated the birthday pudding for me and the balloons, thank you

Very good service but disappointed with my burger. A bit small and meat was unseasoned.

It was great. The day started off rocky - but Maxwells gave me a complete do over. We missed our original booking as we were look for parking. They seated us straightaway and almost immediately a waiter came to take our order for drinks and food. It was my partners birthday and he was wanted southern food and Maxwells hit the spot for him. The food looked and tasted great. Would definitely go again and recommend to others. Infact I’ll rather keep it to myself. But it was a great day out. Plus my partner got a free freakshake on the house because it was his birthday. They were all so love.

It was such a nice place to have dinner. Would say that they should have more booth type tables like they did in the previous building. But lovely dinner and cocktails. Would recommend.

The restaurant was a very general place to eat, a busy atmosphere with a mix of families and workers - not really what we expected from the website, but we were led upstairs to a small table by a balcony and waited on very quickly. The menu was the same as their website and both food and drink was delicious (we have a bbq chicken, chips, coleslaw and a side of onion rings each, with a Gin). The food portions were quite generous and we didn't feel the need for a pudding. For the food, we thought that the price was a little high at £83.00 all together, inclusive of a surcharge charge of £13 for service - both likely a result of the area. Other than that the toilets were clean, everyone was very polite and it was in a bustling area of Convent Garden.

Even though I pre booked a table we were put upstairs where the tables are crammed in. We ordered our food and within 4 minutes it was served which was a bit rushed. Food was good and service was good.
