From the runner up of Masterchef: The Professionals, Matt Healy at The Foundry is a funky modern venue for unique takes on British classic. The red brick warehouse-style space is loaded with character, and features seating at the front to enjoy al fresco meals and drinks.
Matt Healy has crafted a truly inventive, exciting menu that gives new life to established British dishes. Nibble on snacks and charcuterie to start, like chorizo in cider, or order some of the small plate sharers like hand-cut beef tartare with yolk and a cheese and onion toastie. Tastes of the local area are served up with the Yorkshire venison, with other seasonal dishes added to the menu constantly.
An extensive wine list is on hand at Matt Healy at The Foundry in Leeds to complement any meal, along with freshly mixed cocktails like the gin and tonic made with Portobello Road Gin and fresh botanicals. Desserts are beautifully presented too, and include favourites like crème brûlée doughnut, and lemon posset with sherbet and meringue.
A polished yet ruggedly individual venture from the celebrated chef, Matt Healy at The Foundry is a 10-minute walk from Leeds Rail Station.

We went to the restaurant for he Sunday roast. The starter was fantastic, and the roast was amazing.

Attentive service, lively atmosphere, beautiful surroundings & delicious food. I know this is high end but for the price, the portions were tiny & I was still hungry after 3 courses, & I'm not a greedy heifer, ha ha! The nectarine cheesecake was so pretty, I almost didn't want to dig in & spoil but I did because I was starving!

Lovely relaxed restaurant with great food. The best roast potatoes I’ve had in a long time! The chocolate and cherry brownie was amazing and I could have eaten it again. Some reviews say the portions are small but other than needing some more bread with his pate the portions for the Sunday lunch menu were perfect and even my husband who eats a lot was full!!

Excellent food, and fantastic service. Definitely reccomend the chorizo in cider, delicious! The Bavette steak is to die for.
Such a great place, will be back again, and have already recommended to friends and family.

We had snacks to share to start, salted almonds, bread with oil, and a portion of warm chorizo, generous portions and all very tasty and fresh. The bavette of steak for main was divine, followed be a subliminal chocolate and cherry dessert, my partner had cheesecake bomb.
Staff all very knowledgeable and attentive but not overly. We sat outside on the terrace as it was a beautiful day. Got a glimpse of the main man too! Perfect lunch, we will be back!

We were fortunate enough to have a lovely summer evening to sit outside the restaurant. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and explained the dining experience very well. We ordered all the nibbles to share between 4, and really enjoyed each and every one of them. The green beans were not expected, but were crunchy and delicious, and the almonds were the best we'd ever tasted.
The starters ordered were the scallop based one and the sea bass one. We all enjoyed them very much. The mains were the Bavette steak, and the duck breast, and were all delicious. The desserts were enjoyed by everyone too.
The highlight of the evening, after the food of course, was a visit to our table by Matt Healy himself. He was genuinely interested to hear what everyone thought of their meal, and was very friendly and open.

We went for Sunday Lunch and it was beautiful. The whole experience from arriving, dining, leaving. Whilst the food is exceptional the key was the staff. At every point they were brilliant. They provided the experience.
