The food is good as always. Enjoy it. But the service was not very good. The staff didn't seem to know what restaurant service is about. It is not takeaway meal.

Went to Masala Dabbas for dinner. Have been there a number of times with wide and 2 kids. The consistency of the food is excellent. The breads are amazing . Breads are Light and very tasty. The menu has a variety of authentic dishes and classic favourites such as butter chicken. The prawn starter is a must as is the lamb chop starter. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant even has an India whisky! Conveniently located on Orpington high street so easy to get to.

Authentic dishes much higher standard than your usual Indian restaurant, dishes have a premium price but you are paying for lovely presentation and quality product. A bit mean with sauces for poppadoms and charge if you want extra which you invariably do, something I would look at if I was the owner , always feel a little bit rushed ordering and main dishes come out as soon as you finish starter which in the future would push me towards not ordering starters and ordering an extra side as a main so they will lose revenue in that aspect.. also don’t like the idea of limiting time to 2 hours per visit .

    Hello Masala D,
I live in Devon and have eaten at your restaurant 4 times and mostly very good. However the pani purees needed twice as much aloo and channa and the liquid should have 50% more imli.
The Biriyani should be going on my previous visits to Hyderabad India contain more saffron and rose water. The masala chops were excellent as we're the nans.
Maybe you should attempt to make some home made khulfis.
The best khulfis and dhum biriyani I've had in the UK are at the Indian restaurant in the Raddison Edwardian blue hotel, Heathrow.
    Cheers Ian.
