Taking its name from world-famous chef Marco Pierre White, Marco’s New York Italian at Birmingham Airport blends American and Italian dining, served in an ultra-modern, trattoria-style setting. The plush, monochrome dining room features black and white prints of the man himself.

Along with homemade pizzas and pasta, juicy burgers and steaks, the Marco’s New York Italian menu offers more elaborate creations. Try the yellowfin tuna steak with spinach, puttanesca and new potatoes, or the lamb rump with Italian beans and rosemary and garlic roast potatoes.

A side of ‘lazy fries’ comes highly recommended, no matter what you’ve ordered. Indulge in a melting chocolate truffle cake for pudding at Marco’s in Birmingham, or opt for a zingy Italian delight of ice cream swimming in limoncello.

Found at the Holiday Inn, Marco’s restaurant is conveniently located 10 minutes from Birmingham International Train Station, Birmingham International Airport and the NEC / Genting Arena.

    Food was mediocre, did not blow us away. Chips were not even cooked fully. Half way through our mains being cleared away, we were handed the bill and not offered desserts or tea/coffee from our waitress who was quite unpleasant and made us feel unwelcome even though we hadn’t complained about the food. We were not asked how the food was even though my fiancée left over half of her meal. Really poor service/place. The staff seem like they are working in a 5 star restaurant, very formal and uptight however the menu does not fit with this. I think the place needs to workout if it is casual or upmarket but either way, the food and service requires improvement. We stayed at the Holiday Inn the evening we dined here and the Holiday Inn staff were impeccable, so warm and professional and friendly, the restaurant staff could learn a lot from the hotel staff. Would not eat here again nor recommend. It was such a let down.

    My second visit to Marco's and it was as good as the last. Excellent attentive service, wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Initially slightly disappointed that the Carbonara that I had before was not on the menu but the spaghetti and meatballs was every bit as good. Perhaps the menu has skewed slightly away from pasta for my liking. A slight mix-up of wine was sorted without fuss and I was persuaded to try the Tiramisu too!

    We were not able to bring forward our reservation despite there being multiple empty tables nor when we came back later allowed sit alongside another group of friends and pay separately as the manager said it was too confusing for staff in the kitchen! It took 20 minutes for our order to be taken and a further 45 and 3 requests for our wine to arrive. Our meal was good but the service although friendly was slow and disappointing. We won’t return.

    A very enjoyable steak and glass of wine followed by a good nights sleep and an early morning shuttle to the airport for our flight.

    The sharing platter was delicious and great value. However, as the restaurant was only open for voucher users there was no dessert menu. The staff seemed a little confused by the whole concept of the 'voucher'. We were not encouraged to stay once our meal was over - no coffee offered.
