Staff excellent, food excellent. Only problem was the air con was on and so it was a little too cold for us. We had the following which were delicious - beetroot/walnut salad/shepherds pie/burger/sticky toffee pudding/ice cream. The soup could have been slightly warmer.

I ordered steak and ale pie, it was An insult to the word pie. The pastry was very poor quality less than 2mms thick with a very small amount of filling. I do cook and able to produce food to a far better standard than I was presented with.

Overall I was very happy with the experience and the quality of the food. I would have liked a choice of tea, even if only from a limited selection. The biggest disappointment however was that the sandwiches were very dry, having clearly been cut early and left exposed to the air. Whilst I recognise that preparation needs to be done in advance I would have expected them to be kept covered in order that the bread did not dry out. This applied to all of the sandwiches and was not the level of service I would have expected.

We went for a festive menu as a couple and the food was like a plate from a mass catered Xmas event. Last year it was awesome a good size full Christmas dinner, this year a small turkey roulade, one fondant potato and a small amount of veg, the turkey was tasteless and dry, we will not be returning.

Menu a bit spares for a steakhouse, no ribs, grilled chicken etc.... Lovely venue Arrived at the restaurant at 17:50 booked a table for 18:00 was told by staff we are to early for our booking (10 minutes early nobody in restaurant)?

My friend and I had a great afternoon. We weren’t rushed, supplied with a sufficient amount to eat and drink and the price was great. My only criticism would be that there was no cakes offered to myself. I have a gluten, wheat and dairy intolerance. I appreciate the difficulty in this. The sandwiches, scones and sorbet was great. It just would of been nice to have the option of a cake. I enjoy the afternoon tea so much, that I am coming again in December for my mother’s 70th.

Setting was pleasant. Afternoon tea slightly disappointing as Quality of food not as good as experienced elsewhere. Cakes appearance sloppy. Macaroons next to cake got soggy. Scones doughy in centre. Sandwich fingers nice.
