Poor. Steak over cooked, chips and sauce cold. Needed recooking so two of us ate and one had to wait for their meal. Overheard two other diners the previous night having same issue.

The worst afternoon tea we have ever had. The food was ordinary and dumped on the table without a word. We weren’t asked if we wanted anything and we asked for a box to take home a cake, we were given a square of foil and a paper bag and left a wrap it up ourselves. Having been in hotel hospitality for over twenty years the service was appalling and no effort was made to upsell more champagne. I certainly would not want my name to be associated with this restaurant

The food was very nice , despite my treacle tart being the smallest I had ever seen and half the size of all the other puddings. I would say though that it was not exceptional and not at all sure it justified the price. The main problem was the service. We had all been seated for well over 5 minutes before anyone came to ask if we would like a drink, even though there was only one other table of two occupied. It was very hard to catch sight of serving staff throughout the evening and we had time and again to call someone over when we eventually saw someone appear. The bottle of white wine was warm, we were not offered fresh glasses for the red wine, and there were long waits before we could order. For dessert, two of our party only received their desserts and the other 3 did not appear for 10 minutes. I have not had such awful service for a very long time, and inexplicably on a very quiet evening and at a supposedly prestigious restaurant. A 10% service charge was added which in the circumstances we disputed, and the understanding staff member took this off without question. We would not return.

Lovely relaxing setting for a great meal. Particularly liked the scotch egg starter and the chicken Kiev . Fantastic waitress called Emily who was friendly , attentive and professional. She made an enjoyable meal even better. A credit to the restaurant.

Not amazing. I requested my steak to be medium and my partner requested medium rare. But I got medium rare and he got medium! Triple fried chips were a cheap frozen variety not saying they weren’t triple fried as they were so greasy they probably were. So technically right but very disappointed with quality. Wine was very good and good choice Service just average Restaurant was very cold and had to ask to move tables as was sat in draft.

Execellent. Just busy enough to give some atmosphere, good simple well cooked food and exceptional service.

The food was rather salty. Disappointed with the dining experience. It was just an ordinary dinner out with a very high price tag. I was expecting better value for money. Will try an avoid this experience in the future.
