Not an enjoyable experience. Had asked for a specific bottle of wine and only 15 mins later when the girl came to take our food order we had to chase our drinks. Another wait to find out the bottle wasnt available. After selecting another bottle I only discovered it was the wrong bottle altogether but it was drinkable so I let it be. I had chosen the potted duck starter and it was strangely really cold. I'd have assumed the chef has taken it straight from the fridge to the plate. The dish it came in was still really cold, certainly not what I would have expected from what is essentially a duck pate. Next I had to send my peppercorn sauce back as it was barely warm with my steak. I had the millionaire shortcake for dessert with frozen chocolate ice cream. Frozen to the point were there were chunks of ice in it and had to leave it to melt. The shortcake was terrible, honestly felt like it had been a frozen dessert as opposed to being anywhere near freshly prepared. From a restaurant going under Marco Pierre White's name I would have expected much much better quality of food. The service can be worked on but the food being served up on saturday was well below standard. Also noticed the couple next to us had to chase their food order and had already been in the restaurant before my wife and I arrived.

We visited MPW Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Glasgow to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. Both of us were looking forward to the occasion but were left feeling very cold. The service was ok, although one of the waiting staff did decide to poor the entire contents of a £40 bottle of Malbec into our 2 wine glasses, about a minute after the maitre d' had carefully served us the wine, and our waitress and no idea about the menu. When the food arrived it was ok, but nothing amazing and presented very poorly. Looking around the restaurant I'm not sure if this was the norm or for some reason we were just unlucky. The overall feel of the restaurant was of a place that was tired and unloved, with a staff who were less than interested. Based on the occasion we decided not to complain or cause a fuss but I certainly won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone soon. Having eaten in a number of high class restaurants this was one of the worst.

Lovely meal in nice setting and atmosphere

I must say that despite our table being booked for 5.15pm, we waited until 5.45pm before our table was ready, and even then we had to go find the waiting staff before being seated. The meal and drinks took much longer to be served than I would normally expect. The waiter even said to us there's no service charge but don't leave a tip because of the poor service. Don't think I'll be back in a hurry!
