Restaurant description
From world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Birmingham marries an ultra-slick setting and sumptuous old school recipes. On the 25th floor of the spectacular Cube building, 360-degree views of the city are offered.
Offering a range of uncomplicated classics, the Marco’s menu stays true to British cooking, with dishes like signature shepherd’s pie, or roast partridge with chipolatas and bread sauce. Heading a sterling selection at Marco’s restaurant is a range of succulent 28-day-aged steaks. Sample a novel-thick cut of T-bone, or a luxurious fillet served with all the traditional trimmings.
Nostalgic flavours for dessert see old school classics served with a high-end twist, with offerings like bread & butter pudding, or a retro sherry trifle. An extensive wine list at Marco’s in Birmingham perfectly complements the richly flavoured cuisine.
Evoking a cool cosmopolitan vibe in this breath-taking setting, guests can enjoy Marco Pierre White Steakhouse's glass-fronted al fresco terrace during warmer weather. The Mailbox is a stone's throw from MPW Steakhouse, and New Street Station is 10 minutes' walk away.

The experience was basic. I expected it to be much better. The [groupon] menu offerings were just terrible with not much wriggle room. Mostly vegan based options. The starters were basic . The mains I chose the steak - basic with a small side of sauce and no other condiments. The steak was not properly seasoned. And was also a bit cold considering it took more than 40 mins after the starters came. In all I think if they are offering a [voucher] experience they need to put their best foot forward to attract repeat customers. As a food blogger I was extremely underwhelmed. Only silver lining was their cocktails which was the highlight of our evening.

The atmosphere was lovely Very spacious and views were amazing, food was ok not my usual type of food, expensive with small portions as expected. Staff can be quite firm, whether it’s because they were busy not too sure. Had to wait a long while to be recognised by staff to place an order.

Having eaten at MPW several times our experience this time wasn't up to standard due to the main courses. Location of the restaurant, staff and service all excellent. All 4 of us ordered fillet steak, all ordered medium rare. The steaks were all cooked medium to well done, no pink at all. The steaks also seemed to be much smaller than previously, on the menu as 6oz but they varied in size and the smallest certainly wasn't 6oz! Also, the chips, normally excellent, seemed to be very fatty as if they hadn't been cooked in hot enough oil. All starters and desserts were excellent.

Visited for afternoon tea ,customer service virtually nil, only interaction with waiter was when the cake stand was plonked down in front of us and when it was removed. Can't comment on the beverages as didn't receive/were not offered any. Staff busy fussing around a couple of select tables and generally avoiding eye contact.

They have a poster saying their "Chef who made Gordon Ramsay cry". Maybe Gordon did cry because how horrible the food was. It's sad they are proud about being second-class. Visited it for the views and dinner. Views as expected. Dinner much less than expected. No point to go in detail, they are not going to change anyway. But such effortless dishes you can find anywhere and 3 times cheaper. Tasted dull, flavourless. Most of it overcooked, drowned in oil and not high quality products. Been told it's chicken breast, it sure wasn't. Anybody can cook better than their chefs do. My suggestion is just go for few drinks, enjoy the views and leave asap. Have never had such low quality food, for such high prices, after visiting 100+ cities, 30+ countries all over the world.

Went for afternoon tea. It was good apart from being charged £5pp to be seated by the window. I found this was utterly ridiculous. The view wasn’t great as it was just a few daunting buildings However, couldn’t fault the food. Nice and simple. Very filling. Though tea came out very early - and caused it to go cold. Service was very slow. Couldn’t see waiters in order to place order or ask a question.
