Restaurant description

From world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Birmingham marries an ultra-slick setting and sumptuous old school recipes. On the 25th floor of the spectacular Cube building, 360-degree views of the city are offered.

Offering a range of uncomplicated classics, the Marco’s menu stays true to British cooking, with dishes like signature shepherd’s pie, or roast partridge with chipolatas and bread sauce. Heading a sterling selection at Marco’s restaurant is a range of succulent 28-day-aged steaks. Sample a novel-thick cut of T-bone, or a luxurious fillet served with all the traditional trimmings.

Nostalgic flavours for dessert see old school classics served with a high-end twist, with offerings like bread & butter pudding, or a retro sherry trifle. An extensive wine list at Marco’s in Birmingham perfectly complements the richly flavoured cuisine.

Evoking a cool cosmopolitan vibe in this breath-taking setting, guests can enjoy Marco Pierre White Steakhouse's glass-fronted al fresco terrace during warmer weather. The Mailbox is a stone's throw from MPW Steakhouse, and New Street Station is 10 minutes' walk away.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

We were greeted by a lady who raced ahead so we were walking about 5 metres behind her,we were sat at a sunny window seat with the sun in our eyes, our male waiter was useless, it was ages before we were asked if we wanted a drink , he took the order with no advice at all, I asked for 3 sides of which only 2 arrived, when I asked to cancel the fries as we were almost through our meal he was a bit offish and I over heard him talking to a colleague about us ..... not very professional at all !! he said he would bring us a taste of the onion rings which never came during our meal until the end on a plate - the onions inside were raw !! service was poor overall and although the food was reasonably priced the drinks - we only had 2 beets @£6 each and a lemonade and one G&T was almost as much as the meal ! service charge was included at 10% which annoyed me as our waiter didn't deserve it at all........ staff are young with no experience - yet there was a head waiter walking around with a tan and purple shirt with a smell under his nose - lighting candles .... if he was so fantastic and qualified he should get over himself and train the young staff to do a better job ....

Website link pointed to Newcastle restuarant and i ended up booking there! I did mention to management who were very keen to hear all our feedback. Booking was folowed up with a phone call. We were able to go to our table earlier booked. Would recommend arriving early to make use of the o/s decked area or the bar. Food, value, variety, quality was better than expected. Service made the whole experince a memorable evening.

Overall a very nice evening with excellent food. However the service was very slow especially to get a drink on arrival and also once at the table to take our order. The food was very good although we were given Pepper sauce without ordering with 2 fillet steaks and then charged for this at the end once eaten! The "sherry trifle" had no taste of sherry but was nice anyway. The views are amazing and the ambiance in the restaurant very good.

As a frequent visitor I love every time I visit mpw. First was in chester, but have been three times in the cube and the mixture of ambience, amazing views and outstanding food makes it hard not to return. I've been for a special lunch with the girls, my birthday and my husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary yesterday. Food is great and love the lunch offer for when you want luxury but on more of a budget. I will return again xx
