Restaurant description

From world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Birmingham marries an ultra-slick setting and sumptuous old school recipes. On the 25th floor of the spectacular Cube building, 360-degree views of the city are offered.

Offering a range of uncomplicated classics, the Marco’s menu stays true to British cooking, with dishes like signature shepherd’s pie, or roast partridge with chipolatas and bread sauce. Heading a sterling selection at Marco’s restaurant is a range of succulent 28-day-aged steaks. Sample a novel-thick cut of T-bone, or a luxurious fillet served with all the traditional trimmings.

Nostalgic flavours for dessert see old school classics served with a high-end twist, with offerings like bread & butter pudding, or a retro sherry trifle. An extensive wine list at Marco’s in Birmingham perfectly complements the richly flavoured cuisine.

Evoking a cool cosmopolitan vibe in this breath-taking setting, guests can enjoy Marco Pierre White Steakhouse's glass-fronted al fresco terrace during warmer weather. The Mailbox is a stone's throw from MPW Steakhouse, and New Street Station is 10 minutes' walk away.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

We were disappointed with the whole experience. We ordered drinks on arrival at the table . A cocktail and a bottle of Malbec . The Cocktail cane half way through eating the starter and then after 40 Mins had to ask where the wine was . 10 mins later it turned up with a stressed out waitress , who didn’t even ask us to taste the wine . She just poured to full glasses and disappeared. We both dealt the restaurant was over full , with little room between each table . This was our first visit to The Cube and we won’t be in a hurry to return .

We were extremely disappointed at the experience we had, the restaurant has lost its high standards due to vouchers I think, the place has been cheapened and now I would not ever repeat going there. The queue was ridiculous, I have never queued like that especially when at a restaurant that’s meant to be luxury and high class, it was like a cattle market, with a lot of people in the queue that had vouchers receiving the meal for a cheap price and it shows greatly in our opinion, to be took round to a supposable table which then wasn’t free so we where told to go back and wait, unacceptable, then eventually sat almost on someone else’s lap as tables are all so close due to being so busy, it needs to be re thought otherwise it will have no good reputation left.

The experience right from the start was one that I’d rather forget. After queuing to get allocated to our table - we were told to go away and come back at the booking time of 2:30. Others in the queue without bookings were shown to tables. Odd but we felt penalized for being 20 minutes early even though we had a booking !! Then tried to buy a bottle of wine at the bar but I wanted this on my table bill “ this cant be done - bar is separate to restaurant - only the manager can do this!! We had a £100 voucher so I really didn’t want to pay £25 cash for some wine separately. Getting annoyed now. Then ended up carrying wine & glasses and our coats by myself - through to our table. No offer of help from the staff - as I say the service is a little short of what I expect. No one person seems to be in charge - staff all quite young and quite frankly - useless. We tried to order some sourdough bread as a starter while we pondered the menu. This can’t be done “ sorry but we need your full order” what ??? Tried to order burger as our main - only to be told no burgers were left and so not available. Why not tell us this when giving is the menus ? There are 4 burger options on the a la carte menu so it’s shocking that they had ran out of burgers. I could go on and on but tired of typing this now. Good luck if you go there. Poor value for money!!

Sunday lunch ... food was fabulous, however service left a lot to be desired. No one at the desk to greet us, waited for a while for someone to come over and acknowledge us. Even though lots of staff noticed us and carried on talking/socialising, felt as though no one wanted to give eye contact as we were interrupting there tait a tate!!. Not attentive at all, had to continually ask for table water, drinks etc and even for the vegetables that accompanied the Roast. To top it all, I paid the bill which included a service charge but, had to ask where my change was, I really shouldnt have paid the service charge as service was non existent, Food delightful service abysmal. Marc what has happened with your staff, have you not trained them?
