The service exemplary. The waiting staff gave the right amount of attention to us, and couldn't do enough for us. The food also was top class, and I would certainly recommend to friends and family.

Best I can say is that it was ok. We went for an early dinner before going to the theatre (Sadlers Wells). The restaurant had just opened when we arrived and we were the only customers, so no real atmosphere. It was very cold and for some reason we were seated by a large window, through which there was an unpleasant cold draught. We asked to be moved and this was accomplished eventually! The food came quickly and was ok but certainly nothing special.

After recently visiting another Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Cambridge I was rather looking forward to visiting again whilst staying in London. Comparing the two restaurants I must say I much preferred the experience from the Cambridge grill. Whilst there must’ve only been around 3 or 4 other sets of diners at the same time, service was incredibly slow, with a long wait to receive drinks and very long wait in fact over an hour, for our food to arrive (we only ordered two steaks!) There was only one waitress for the duration of the meal which could’ve been the reason for the slow service. In regards to the drinks, the menu didn’t match to what was actually available, ordered a draught pint of Pepsi and recieved a small glass of coca-cola, and was charged the same price? The meal itself was nice however, again from ordering the exact same meal, cooked the same way, I must say I definitely preferred the Cambridge meal. A service charge was automatically added to the bill, we would’ve happily added a tip for the waitress’s service, if we were happy with the service we received but unfortunately we were not.
Would expect a higher level of service from a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, makes me feel reluctant to return due to such high expectations set from the Cambridge grill.

Hardly any diners in the restaurant on a Saturday early evening 6pm, just 4 plus our party of 4. Restaurant was very dark making it difficult to read the menu and lacked ambience, partly due to customer vibe but also lighting and silence, no background soft music, candles etc.

Table service very attentive and friendly. However very lengthy wait time for food from kitchen (50 mins for anything to arrive) which was a surprise as so few diners.

Food, once it arrived was very good. Steak cooked well, tasty and tender. Shepherds pie also good and fish and chips both tasty and large. Onion rings delicious, freshly made.

Couple of disappointments with drinks. No tap/pump lemonade, which was replaced with Fever tree mini can at premium price. This availability issue should have been declared at ordering, particularly as it was ordered for a long drink to quench thirst. Also premium beer served in a Guinness glass! For a hotel/restaurant of this calibre would expect better. Attention to detail.

Also annoying was being asked to complete a survey with a hand held tablet, server emphasising her name. We agreed as it said it would take a couple of minutes. It took at least 10 and at the point of submission then said it had failed to work due to an IT upgrade being required for the tablet! Really!

I want to be very clear on this. It is a shame that MP White's name is used for such a terrible service.
A lot of things you expect did not meet the standard of a fine dining experience at all.
    - entrance comments about being too early for the reservation time in order to get food on your table is poor service to start with
    - being seated in a nearly empty restaurant at 5.30 pm at the worst place close to the cold and windy entrance of the hotel is poor judgement of the hosts
    - even if you are right you don't argue with a guest about the drinks he is ordening as a starting drink.
    - wrong soup ordered and no excuse about the mixup.
    - it is human work, so a waiter can drop your maincorse on the floor, but no action to warm the other meal of my partner is poor quality by the hosts
    - allowing all people to put their coats over their chairs is a no go for me, and should be for the restaurant.
    - no attention or passion with the team of hosts, making pictures during working hours with their own cellphones,
    - no craftmanship or knowledge about hospitality was shown by the full staff of hosts and waiters, sideplates removed, knives and forks mixed up or not replaced, just basic things that must be aquired in a quality restaurant like this.

for us, coming over from the Netherlands esp. to have an experience at your restaurant it was once but never again.

    kind regards

    Miriam en Jan Willem

The restaurant is situated in the Hilton Hotel in Islington, a short walk from Angel tube station.
We ate from the lunch menu. The atmosphere was lovely, even though the restaurant was very quiet.
The food and service were excellent. We were attended by 3 people who made us very welcome. The food was served with pride. We were not rushed at all.
I think the overall experience was wonderful and i would hope to return some time.
