We went at 12.30 for the Afternoon Tea and Bubbles choice. We felt special because for most of the time we were on our own in the set area. Waitress and Maitre-D were very attentive and even took a photo for us. The sandwiches were tasty, the scones still warm and lovely and there were bakewell tart portions with huge strawberries. I was so full I couldn't manage the glass of raspberry coulis, but it looked lovely. A very nice experience.

Food was ok but not up to the mark for what you would expect, french onion soup was top notch but the steak was tough! Restaurant lacked feel and felt like what it was, a hotel restaurant not a top restaurant. Overall disappointed. Service was good

Lovely hotel and afternoon tea - only downside was I ordered vegetarian sandwiches and they tasted strongly of smoked salmon so maybe cut with the same knife

After booking a table for 10, 3 of which were children, tea cups were never removed. The waitress came to us twice during the 2hours we dined. My mother who's birthday it was, is lactose intolerant and so instead of the lovely cream tea which we all enjoyed, she was handed a plate of sandwiches and 2x sticks of melon. This was absolutely terrible. My niece who works for Hilton said that in her kitchen they supply lactose free cakes, sandwiches & a platter of fruit. She called her boss and informed him of this. We finished our meal and waited 17mins for someone to come so we could pay only to be billed not only for my mothers sad excuse for a cream tea but for service too, (we had to find someone and ask to pay so we could leave, ) which I refused to pay. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever and will not recommend it either. The food for my mother on her birthday and service were terrible!

Not what we expected at all. Sited in an unatractive hotel loby we were shown to our table and dumped. Not offered a drink or bread or anything. There was one girl visable briefky on the floor and in the end I had to hunt down a young spanish girl and explain we needed some attention. She did her best to look after us for the rest of the evening but with half hour gaps between courses and only 2 of us having starters it was not s pleasent experience. When the food arrived it was oc a poor standard. My beetroot abx goats cheese salad was unappealing. A load of csliced beetroot plnked on a plate with thr mearest crumb of hoats cheese and whst waz supposdd to be candied aalnuts thst tasted like rice krispies. Unpleasantly bland.
My partners Prawn cocktail looked like something from the seventies with 2 thirds lettuce shoved in an icecream server with a load of prawns on top. No imagination.
aour mains when they finally arrived were dry kiev and a miniscule chicken forristierre whos saving grace was the madera sauce but uncooked mushrooms and a swampy delphinoir made the plate unpalatable. Deserts of sticky toffee pudding and bannansa mess with crack your teeth caramel and toffee finished us off! One word seemed to sum the experience up. Weatherspoons!
Chefs that stick their names to experince dining should really make sure what diners are getting is what they would be happy with associating themselves with and if I was Marco Pierre white judging by last nights experience I would hang my head in shame!

Food was great, lovely meal all round would highly recommend. Great menu hard to choose so must visit again sometime. Tops marks also for the service and staff. Fab experience

We liked the experience in general. The service was great and the presentation of the food was beautiful.
The sandwiches didn't impress my mom or myself much--the cucumber one had not much taste and the smoked salmon didn't taste fresh as expected.
The almond cake was delicious and the scones good.

We had afternoon tea for my daughters birthday. The restaurant was clean and quiet and the waiting staff attentative and professional. I could URL have done with a cup of tea more off the bat but I'm pretty sure if I'd have asked I'd have got. The sandwiches and cakes were great! Really tasty, a good selection and plenty! I loved the scones, who am i kidding, I love them all. It's not silly fancy, it's not budget, it's good!
