Excellent. Food, service, surroundings and atmosphere. Only complaint was the cheesecake was quite grainy and tasteless. Compliments to Ruth our waitress she was excellent.

We loved our meal. All the staff were very friendly, especially Ruth our waitress.
Very accommodating with the little one, and also some of our party running late.
Venue is beautiful and very relaxed.
Would definitely recommend.

Service good but food disappointing at the price. Crispy Calamari wasn’t crispy, Potted Duck was unpleasantly fatty and covered in butter and my steak featured about a half inch of fat along the side. Fish cake and lamb both good though. Had better for less than half the cost. Trading on name I’m afraid.

Staff were very friendly and really went the extra mile! There was a server named Ruth (we think thats her name) who was absolutely brilliant - she was incredibly attentive with everyone and made the effort to really chat with us. We were also served by someone we belive was the manager in a blazer and another young lady who was cashing up the till as we left. All were incredibly lovely! And the food was outstanding! Thankyou for a lovely evening :)

We had a very enjoyable lunch for 5 using the 2 courses for £12.50 Deal. Two of our party had lamb which they’d asked for pink. Both diners were a little disappointed with their lamb as it was quite thinly cut and overdone. They did both finish their meals so it evidently wasn’t too bad! I mentioned this to the servers when paying our bill and they were grateful for the feedback. Everything else was delicious and decent portion sizes. The restaurant itself is in Hotel Indigo which is the old Sgire Hall in Durham and an absolutely beautiful building, sympathetically restored and repurposed.

Staff were attentive and nice. Food was poor. Calamari was soggy. Had to send a sirloin steak back as it was tough. My rib eye was just ok. They did bring another sirloin out but it was average. I have had far far better steaks elsewhere for a lot less money. Very very overpriced for what you get. Also very small portions of sauce to go with the steak. And for an additional £3 on top of the £27.50 I had paid for the steak , it was poor show .
Desert was ok. Again nothing great.
Venue/building was lovely. But definitely won’t be spending £97.50 on dinner for two , without wine/booze, agin at Marco Pierre Whites. Very disappointed .
