Payed extra for three Tim’s cooked chips which were inedible so hard could have broken my teeth, hard on the outside very dry on the inside. The other option was frozen chips which is not acceptable in a restaurant, £15-16 for chicken which was very small. Compared to ramside rib room ramside wins 100%. On saying that the waitress was very pleasant, my friend who was with me was discussed by the artificial flower should have been fresh.

This is the 2nd time i have visited the restaurant and although the setting and decor is fantastic, overall my experience on both occasions have been extremely disappointing. On the 1st occasion we visited, we ordered starters which took over 40 minutes to arrive (eggs Benedict and Camembert). We then ordered steak which again took a while to arrive. I ordered mine medium/well however, when i cut into it, the plate was swimming in blood. For the price you pay for the food and drink, the service and food was not good enough.
On our 2nd visit we went for afternoon tea. The food itself was beautiful, however the service extremely poor. We were not asked what drinks (tea or coffee) we wanted to accompany the afternoon tea, the service was far too slow and nobody came back to ask if we wanted extra drinks or if the food was o.k. Again, for the money paid, this was not particularly great

Booked Sunday lunch and looked forward to the roast beef, however we were given 2 very small strips of beef half of which was inedible fat. The rest of the vegetables were very nice. Staff and ambiance excellent. Would not book again for Sunday lunch.

A lot of work has been undertaken to renovate Old Shire Hall into Hotel Indigo and Marco Pierre White restaurant and it is a pleasant experience. All of the listed features remain and is pretty ambient. In terms of the restaurant and prices I feel this is overpriced. So for the "for the table" items you receive 5/6 pieces of crusty hard bread, and some un-pitted olives. I ordered steak which was cooked to my request however for close to £25 and £4 for the sauce this certainly wasn't the best quality rib-eye steak I've enjoyed. In fact I could have purchased a steak at twice the weight for a quarter of the price from Morrison's without the streak of hard grissle running through it. The wine was pleasant and just slightly more in line with other local bar prices, and the latte's were exquisite. In all this will probably be the first and last visit to this restaurant. The staff are extremely pleasant and credit to them.

I have recently attended for friends birthday and we had a really lovely afternoon tea. The gentleman who served us was extremely polite and courteous. Nothing about the afternoon I could fault.

One meal was excellent and the service and staff were very good.
One meal was poor - starter of eggs benedict was cold - possibly plated onto a cold plate?? Then the T Bone steak was inedible - all fat and gristle so we sent it back after eating a third of it . It was replaced without fuss with a sirloin - which was very nice. Both desserts were good.
