A really great meal experience. Nice surroundings, great food, and not overcrowded and noisy. Food was really great.

Made to feel welcome from the start. A contemporary but relaxed place! Can not fault food or service! Toilets are via stairs/lift to the hotel floor below not within the restaurant itself!

Had the Scotch Egg starter which was lovely. The egg was cooked to perfection. The burger for mains was nothing special could have had the same anywhere else. The service was not good. Ordered bread and olives which never arrived and then my husband ordered a drink which only arrived after reminding the waiting staff we had ordered. We were told sorry for the delay as they were changing a barrel but we were in direct eyeliner with the bar and the drink had been sat there for 10 minutes. Oh and yes I did see them pick it up and bring it over. Won’t be rushing back.

Lovely surroundings. Food excellent apart from spinach being cold, but service dire!! Waited 1 hour for our meal. Restaurant not full. Waitress had to retake our order 2nd time as ‘ticket didn’t go through’. No apology. Waitress came back within 30 seconds of bringing our meal to ask if everything was ok. We hadn’t had chance to even start! No one came back after that to ask if everything was ok. Charged for 2 extra drinks on our bill. No apology for that either. Waitresses although very pleasant, need better training for such high end dining !

Although the food I had was good I found the service was very poor , we seemed to wait an exceedingly long time for meals to come and also the same with drinks. I also found it infuriating trying to get through on the phone so I left a message and nobody came back to me I took my family to celebrate my husbands birthday. And wasn’t impressed by it at all. Considering the restaurant was quiet . However the staff were very polite.

We arrived at the restaurant on January 17th which was a birthday celebration and explained we had been given vouchers as a present. We was shown to the bar and whilst there bumped into 2 people that we sort of knew ... whilst we were chatting the waiter then came over and asked us would we all like to sit together. Now we vaguely knew the people but it made things really quite awkward to say no. I was really annoyed at being put in this position because instead of having a table for 2 that was booked we were now all sat together. I explained that the bills were to be kept separate and they said that it wouldn’t be a problem. The service was slow and our waiter Didn’t seem to have much idea about the steaks that were on offer. I ordered a fillet steak and could not have expressed enough that I wanted it to be very well done and when it arrived it was still pink inside .. I couldn’t eat it. At no time did anybody come over to ask was the food ok. When our meals were finished the waitress came over to clear the plates and she could clearly see that I had not eaten mine. she did not at any time ask if there was anything wrong with the food. We asked for the bill and waited 20 mins only to be given one bill when I clearly asked at the beginning of the meal for the bills to kept separate. Then we were left with the task of trying to work out who had ordered what. I had been recommended this restaurant many times and was so looking forward to my birthday meal with my husband only to be left down by very poor waiter service and poor food.

It was a quiet evening for diners, but they had run out of the salad starter option because they had no ham. In addition, they had no green beans as a side, and there wasn't a green vegetable alternative. They advertised 50% off main courses for January, but they forgot to deduct it from the bill, and I didn't notice until the next day, so I had to go back into Cardiff to get a £40 refund. I was disappointed.

Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and service. They had run out of Marcos scotch egg which was my 1st choice for starter but still a fantastic meal. Would visit again

The service was poor, had to call for service a few times. Prawn cocktail was ok nothing special, Christmas dinner could have been out of a “TV dinner pack”, certainly not fine dining!! Expensive for what it was. Not sure I would go back
