Serving modern British cuisine from the world-famous chef, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill looks out over a lawn leading to the river Cam, just upstream of a punt rental station.

The décor at this Marco Pierre White restaurant in Cambridge is contemporary and minimalist, with the focus being on the views from the large glass windows of the brasserie. From here you can see the Mill Pond meadow and the punters (of varying degrees of skill) making their way down the river.

In the summer the doors are opened onto the terrace in front of the brasserie, and guests can wander the grounds, or sip tea under the shade of trees.

Just a 3-minute walk from Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill is Cambridge's famous mathematical bridge, belonging to Queen's College just opposite. The city centre is also an 8-minute walk away, complete with its shops, theatres and other colleges.

Booked for afternoon tea. Booking requests were fulfilled, which was appreciated. Pleasant staff but not over-attentive - had to remind them that we needed hot drinks and they didn't check everything was OK later. Food was presented as expected but was not exceptional: sandwiches were small rectangles and a little squashed. Nothing imaginative. Only one scone each, although it was warm, fresh and had sufficient jam and clotted cream. Cakes were rather squashed together on the top and, although good, were not particularly interesting (a macaron, small piece each of cheesecake, carrot cake and a chocolate mousse-type cake). We were not presented with a selection of teas from which to choose and were not offered any refills of hot drinks. Nothing had the flourish or excitement that I would have expected from a Marco Pierre White restaurant - it could have been any hotel anywhere and in fact I have had better afternoon teas in many. The only thing that made the visit really enjoyable was the view out of the window, and that it why we went. If we'd gone for the afternoon tea offering, we would have been a bit disappointed.

    beautiful location.
sat and had a drink at a table by the river....but the table was filthy and the waiter didn't come to clean it..despite being asked...twice...so I ended up doing it myself.
Afternoon tea was good. Scones were warm and delicious. Cakes were a bit "tray bake" style.
Waitress was lovely and brought our mother a little muffin with a candle for her birthday.

We enjoyed a good table with a view over the river. We were seated and immediately presented with a glass of champagne. A great start.

Loved the setting and the décor of the restaurant. It was a treat for my daughters 18 birthday. Staff were fantastic and at the end of the meal they gave my daughter a lovely dessert and candle etc despite not ordering one as we were rushing off to her surprise party. The starters were lovely but a few parts of the food actually let in down, my gluten free chips were inedible, I actually couldn’t bite into them they were so hard. My husband chips looked gorgeous but were actually very greasy which spoilt his main meal. Regarding the children’s menu, both the starters and main were served with chips which was very odd and should be addressed.
It should have been a 5 star experience but it ended up falling to a 3.5 which was a shame as it was a real family treat.
We often have both of our work Christmas partys there so I know the usual standard of food, which was quite a disapointment on the night. Also the prosecco seemed quite flat, Im sure if I mentioned it they would have refilled but I didnt bother as we were on a tight schedule.
