Had a great Sunday lunch here. The quality of the meal was superb and it was presented beautifully.

We'd had lunch here previously and enjoyed the food so decided to go here again for lunch on our 50th wedding anniversary.
We were given unexpected little treats that made it really special for us.. The restaurant is set out very well and nothing is too much
trouble for the staff. The food's really tasty and I'd highly recommend the Chicken a la Forestiere for a main meal and desserts - well - I'd find it difficult to
decide between the sticky toffee pudding and the baked cheesecake. I think it's safe to say we'll be eating here again (hopefully very soon)

We arrived a little bit early for our table, and our first request was to revise our booking from nine people to five as some of our group had to drop out. None of this was a problem, the booking was amended and we had drinks at the bar whilst we waited for the rest of the group to arrive.

The staff are all very professional, well presented and friendly which puts you at ease and makes you feel welcome, which is always a good start. The high standards of service were maintained throughout the evening, which is important as a bad atmosphere or poor service can spoil the enjoyment.

The starters all arrived promptly and together, and they all went down well. We were asked if we were ready for our mains, rather than them just arriving at the table, which was good and well organised. As with the starters, the main courses went down well, especially the ribs, which were the best I have had in a long long time.

in order to be balanced there are two really little things to mention,

The First thing is adding a gratuity to the bill, I would rather decide for myself if I want to leave a tip, which I normally do, and I vary the amount based on the size of the bill and the quality of the service. In this instance I would have paid more if it had not been already been included in the bill

The second is really picky and concerns the black pudding, which was nice but didn't have enough texture for me, it seemed very smooth and pasty and not chunky (hope that makes sense) but this is more about personal taste.

The key question is would I go back and eat there again, and the answer is a definite yes.

We chose a prosseco afternoon tea everything was lovely apart from my rare beef sandwich, half of the meat was fat, while this is unusual it wasn't very nice and notvup to Marco Pierre Whites usual standards. I did mention this to the waiter who spoke to the chef and we were given another complimentary glass of prosecco each.

Downstairs entrance not too inviting, but of course it is within a football stadium, but once upstairs there is a lovely calming atmosphere with background music. Someone there to greet and show us to our table. Very pleasant waitress who took our drinks order and left us to peruse menu. She was astute enough to notice that I wished my husband a Happy Birthday and offered us two complimentary glasses of prosecco which was a lovely surprise. Menu choice was good - not huge but varied. Our meals were delicious and enjoyed by us both. We were not rushed by being offered dessert menu immediately after we'd finished our meal, and when we were ready we placed an order for dessert. All i all a very enjoyable dining experience which we would certainly repeat.

The staff was good and food was lovely. However, we were disappointed with the streak. The steak wasn’t hot enough and the peppercorn & brandy sauce was way too strong. Couldn’t taste the brandy as the pepper totally over powered it.

Fantastic time, highly recommend the Chateaubriand. Baked Camembert starter was divine, beautiful elegant decor, and great friendly service, we had a fantastic time.

Staff were excellent & very helpful, not over attentive, which is good. Food was very good (steak - chateaubriand) was tender & cooked to my liking. The portion size of the chips was poor, 10 in total to share! however cooked very well. We paid extra for sides, reasonable. The restaurant’s atmosphere is not very good as it’s an enclosed box, you can’t help but look at others, there is no windows. Love the old photos & pictures of MK though. The red wine was Marco’s choice & it was lovely, exclusive to his restaurants, reasonably priced again.

Overall enjoyed my meal & especially the wine. Well done to the staff turning the problem around, however head office need to sort out their website as I would of been very disappointed otherwise. The small things brought this down to a 4 rating, however would go again.
