Aptly found on Beak Street, Ma Plucker Soho serves up deep south-inspired fried chicken alongside classic American sides, craft beers and cocktails. Afternoon tea at Ma’ Plucker offers a quirky stateside take on British tradition.
The Ma Plucker menu is all about chicken, with diners choosing a base, a sauce and a cooking style. Served with a house bun, maple waffle or fresh salad, chicken comes 3 ways – rubbed and roasted chipotle chicken from the rotisserie, crispy coated buttermilk chicken, or hickory-spiced pulled chicken. Crispy coated halloumi cheese offers an enticing vegetarian option, whilst sweet and salty popcorn sundae, and classic apple pie are amongst the desserts.
Beginning with a boozy iced tea, followed by unlimited regular iced tea, The Ma Plucker afternoon tea swaps sandwiches for mini burgers including pulled chicken in a brioche bun, and crispy coated chicken with maple waffle and a maple and chilli glaze. The likes of chocolate and corn flake Scotch egg, and mini cakes complete the indulgent experience.
In the heart of Soho, Ma Plucker London is a short walk from Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus Tube stations.

Afternoon Tea with an American twist. Although it did not look as filling from the onset, I was fooled. By the end I could say my stomach was more than satisfied. In place of the traditional finger sandwiches and scones, there were miniatures of what they have on the menu. My favourite was the crispy sweet chicken on a waffle. The doughnut sundae and caramel dipping doughnuts were commendable too. And you can't go wrong with unlimited refills of ice tea! Ma plucker has a funky interior also contributing to the experience. Overall I would certainly visit this upmarket fried chicken again!

Looking for something a bit different with afternoon tea. Wanted a change from tiny cucumber sandwiches and scones. We found ma pluckers online. Restaurant is small and cosy. Really stylish retro, yet modern quirky feel. We chose the festive afternoon tea. Food was excellent. We have a couple of fussy eaters and everyone enjoyed the food. Would def recommend.

Although the food was good, the choice options were limited. Also we had to wait 15 minutes before we were offered a drink..... and this was a unlimited bubbles offer. This may sound petty but, when I booked I was informed that the table was ours for 2hours, however, after 1 1/2 hours we were told this would be our last glass. Their reason was they had had issues with a large table of men drinking too much prosecco and causing trouble. There was only my girlfriend and I and we weren't any trouble. So our experience was cut short. Also we had to remind them that we hadn't had our pudding, included in the deal. The staff were friendly but couldn't handle the lunch time rush. We arrived just as this rush was finishing. But soon after the restaurant became busy again and we seemed to be ignored and passed by when the prosecco was going around other tables. At £35 per person I believe this to be over priced. If I were to go again it would be just for a normal meal and it would have worked out cheaper.

Good service, tasty food (large portions!) and a very boozy ice tea. I'd recommend the 'crack n cheese' - and will definitely be back.
