Restaurant description

A proper haven for BBQ lovers, Manchester Smokehouse is a bustling wood-filled venue that serves up traditional home-style dishes from the States along with a tremendous selection of craft beers, all with a packed line-up of live music events.

Rubbed with secret recipe herbs and spices, the meats on the Manchester Smokehouse menu are cooked to perfection over hickory, oak and fruit woods. Tuck into Texas hand-sliced brisket, pulled pork, and juicy baby back ribs, adding in smoked garlic fries, wood-fired nachos, or the onion bomb with Alabama white BBQ sauce. For brave diners, there are chicken wings marinated in signature hot sauce that is so spicy that it comes with its own disclaimer.

Hand-stretched pizzas are a popular choice at Manchester Smokehouse, along with a choice of well-stacked burgers. For pudding, indulge in sweet waffles with ice cream, chocolate sauce and toffee popcorn, while from the bar there are all kinds of ales and craft beers on top, along with a great selection of artisan spirits.

A meat-lover's dream, Manchester Smokehouse packs in an eclectic live music schedule, and sits 12 minutes' walk from Deansgate Rail Station.

It was New Year’s Eve but not that busy so no excuses. The food was cold and we sent it back. It came back warm but we went with it as it was getting late. Desert included ice cream which obviously had been standing around waiting to be served as it had all melted. We had to wait at mins to pay and only when we got our coats on to leave were we approached with the bill. Asked if everything was ok we said it like it was. The manageress said we should have said something at the time. Surely the fact we returned the food was sufficient. No reduction in the bill was offered and she proceeded In taking the full amount. Terrible service, terrible attitude, terrible food. Never ever again.

Loved the Christmas decorations, it felt very cosy and festive. Great table just right in the corner. Starter was interesting, Hush Puppies, was nice to try for the first time. A bit disappointed with main meal, smoked chicken was very dry and coleslaw wasn't to my taste. Desert was gorgeous triple chocolate pudding. Drinks menu, odd, was on the wall where I could not actually see from my seat to get a great choice of beers. Overall, lovely experience my party was pleased.

Group of 4 we all ordered cocktails. The aviation cocktail was far too strong the it was enjoyable really and at that price it was a shame to be wasted. Our service was good though the gentleman seemed nice enough and got us everything we needed. Our mains were tasty but chips tasted like theyd been sat there all day. Came away a bit unimpressed really.

Yeah, it was good. Food was good. It's was pretty quiet when we went so staff were plentiful and attentive without disturbing us, which is ideal. There are, by the time I type the following numbers, 1800 characters left to use, which seems like a lot. I mean, I feel that, although the above is brief, and it doesn't go into any detail, it's largely representative of my visit. It was somewhat of a business meeting so, if i'm being honest, my focus was more on that than the food, the decor, the atmosphere etc etc. So, as you can no doubt now appreciate, given the context, it actually seems a little unfair to go into significant detail. That said, my experience was a good one. A positive one. That should be your take away from this review. I mean, you know, if you're judging Smokehouse on this review alone, maybe factor in that it wont be wholly accurate. Actually, it is accurate, but maybe it's not wholly representative. Yes, that's it. Representative. If you're going, it's a good faux barbecue meat place. It's not fine dining, but if you go there expecting that, frankly, that's on you, not the restaurant. Manage your expectations, and you'll be just fine. That's good advice for life, really. I'm not claiming to be an expert on all things. Not at all. That's for other people to say. No. I'm just saying that it's not a bad way to approach things in general. Manage your own expectations. Be open minded, consider context, and make your own opinions. And let's just be nice to each other. You know. We can all still find our own way and our own happiness, but still just be nice. Hold a door for somebody. Don't push you way onto the tram. People will notice. Be the change you want to see in the world. Am I really going to end on such a crushing cliche? That's what we're staring down the barrel of here, sadly. Oh. The pulled pork was nice.
