Great food and great service. This was a really good offer and a great chance for us to get together.

Ours was a birthday celebration for five family members, with a standard menu. The menu choices were richly varied, allowing for all tastes, and everyone was delighted with their choice. We treated our starters as tapas dishes, sharing them among us, and everyone loved all of them, especially perhaps the game croquettes and the tiger prawns. The coq au vin was exquisite, as was the pork fillet. Everyone chose the sticky toffee pudding, which was perfect in texture and flavour. We also enjoyed the modestly priced pays d'oc red wine and the Chenin blanc. The service was excellent – friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive. A huge success (my daughter said it was "amazing").

I had as a main, the Fish Cake. I thought it was a starter, which in a lot of hotel restaurants it would be, one medium sized fish cake, a tiny piece of spinach topped with a 'Cotswold egg" ?
Our friend had Lamb which was fatty. Also the range of beers was limited to one local brew and one lager. I hate to complain but it was not good at all, I don't think any of our party enjoyed the experience at all and I will not be back..

Staff and service impeccable. My daughter's coq au vin was terrific but my cod was slightly underwhelming. Too little seasoning and very lonely. Butter bean mash minisicule. However puds were bang on.
