Whilst the food was excellent the booking system and menu displayed were a complete disaster. On arrival the menu we printed off was no longer in season and the price of the new menu had been upped in price. fortunately the staff did sort out and offer the price quoted on the deal but still got the final bill wrong !!. Cant complain about the food and surroundings they were excellent

Atmosphere was lovely, restaurant about half full. Food was very tasty and service excellent. We had the 3 course summer special which had a choice of 4 starters/mains/desserts -all of which appealed to me! Only criticism would be that the offer was advertised on ‘Bookatable’ at £19.95 -reality was it was £24.95. That being said, will definitely return.

Friendly welcome, limited menu for offer but very good food, furniture a bit jaded and food stains on the back of some chairs.

Very impressed with this restaurant. Great quality food and very pleasant staff. We dined with a 10 week old baby and the restaurant was extremely accommodating. Fantastic value deal and very good quality food. Would definitely visit again!

Quality of food and presentation were excellent. Loved the black candles they helped create a wonderful atmosphere. We had an issue with the dessert course, essentially there was a mix up as two separate chocolate dishes were on two sections of the menu and I was initially offered the wrong one, however this was quickly resolved.

Service excellent, meal lovely but I do find it frustrating that it adds a service charge onto the bill for 2 people.

We have visited this restaurant several times and enjoyed it, but on this occasion we were disappointed with the food. The terrine was not up to normal standard, the smoked salmon in the other starter was tasteless and the meat in the game pie was extremely dry, which was clearly visible from the hole in the pastry lid. The waiter brought a jug of gravy afterwards, but it didn’t hide the toughness and gristle in some of the meat. The red cabbage with this dish had too strong a pickled flavour for us. The side dishes of pommel frites and parsnips and swede were very good. Service was slow despite it not being that busy. We didn’t expect a la Carte quality but we have always had much better food in the past.
