In a magnificent converted building, Malmaison Leeds serves sumptuous modern British cuisine. The Chez Mal Bar & Brasserie is a superb addition, with rustic exposed brick offset by neon and filament light bulbs, giving the restaurant a relaxed, modern atmosphere.
Serving modern reinventions of classic local cuisine, the Malmaison menu is committed to sourcing the best produce in the region. Sophisticated yet accessible, a beautifully presented a la carte selection foregrounds bold, wholesome flavours. Tasty vegetarian options and succulent fish dishes are served, as well as sublime New York strip steak cuts.
For a relaxed tone, diners can head to the sleek bar at the Malmaison restaurant. Subdued and atmospheric, a cosmopolitan selection of cocktails showcases signature creations from the Mal mixologists, alongside a well-balanced range of world wines.
Sleek yet rustic, Chez Mal offers warm wood panelling and squashy chocolate leather seating. Leeds Rail Station is just 7 minutes’ walk away.

Superb food as usual in this restaurant - never had a bad meal there. The chocolate brownie was of epic proportions!

Lovely food but lack of a drinks menu on the table and was apparent staff were tying to keep us there as long as possible by avoiding us towards the end.

From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were looked after. Staff were friendly but professional and happy to offer advice. Lovely atmosphere. Food was fantastic from start to finish. Chowder absolutely gorgeous and loved being asked about cheese preferences. House wine was also very drinkable. Relaxed and no rush. Fabulous experience

Beautiful restaurant, surroundings and ambience. Maitre De Showed us our seats quickly No-one came to take our coats so hung on back of chairs. Waiters/waitresses were very attentive Music was very loud Starter and dessert were beautiful Unfortunately main course left a lot to be desired. Coq au Vin can't be that hard to get right, can it. Poor quality chicken and full of splinters/bones No one asked if we wanted any sides (as in vegetables) We have dined here many times, this was the worse main course we have had. Wine was very good and there is a good selection to choose from. Lovely experience with the exception of main course. I would still recommend this restaurant but feels that the food was not up to its usual standard. The service charge is already added to the bill so no need to leave a gratuity

The food here was exceptional as usual with great flavours. The creme brulee was absolutely delicious (and very large) and came with a recipe card to re-create it at home.
