Overall, a very enjoyable launch. Warm welcome, they were able to accommodate us in the main restaurant (see below) where the ambience was great - although I liked the feel of the bar too - the food and service were excellent.,

Sister restaurant to the Michelin-starred The Clove Club, Luca Restaurant serves artisan Italian cuisine made with a selection of the finest seasonal British produce. Housed in an elegantly restored listed building, the interior features chic retro detailing, a bustling open kitchen, and a separate bar area serving small plate dishes and freshly shaken cocktails.

A selection of light nibbles to start on the Luca bar menu include small plates of Italian salami, and stuffed fried olives, moving on to fresh seafood delicacies like Cornish pollock alla puttanesca. On the main restaurant menu, there are indulgent starters such as tartare of Hereford beef with crisp potato and riseley cheese, along with other British treats like spring lamb, Cornish monkfish with fennel, and English spinach.

For pudding, try the sumptuous rum baba with blood orange and Ivy House crème fraîche, or a classic cheeseboard with a selection of British and Italian cheeses. The bar at Luca Restaurant in Farringdon mixes up inventive cocktails as well as well-known classics, and the wine list boasts several celebrated vintages.

A delightful showcasing of Italian dining made possible with fine British produce, Luca Restaurant in London is a 6-minute walk from Farringdon Tube Station.

Absolutely lovely expexerience from the service, to the decor and of course the food itself. Scallops were amazing as was the pumpkin sage butter pasta. Lamp was fantastic but portion could have been larger for the cost. We loved it here.

Bar area informal and a bit of a corridor with railway carriage style benches and tables on one side. Pre dinner drinks average and expensive ( £9 for very average non alcoholic cocktail ) . Main dining room large and open with glass wall looking onto old wall of the Charterhouse. Attractive outside Italian terrace (with heaters and fireplace) to one side of dining room. We ate inside as chilly evening at very pleasant window table in corner looking on to terrace and old wall. Tap water happily provided in carafes and refilled regularly. Reasonable choice of mostly Italian wines by the glass at variety of prices. Good Italian/British food, but not outstanding. Pasta starters good . Monkfish main course dish with aubergine was tasty but fish was a little overcooked. Beef dish was tender and correctly cooked and served with Zuchini. Chocolate pudding with ice-cream good but pudding was a little dry and not outstanding. Service pleasant and efficient.
Overall, an enjoyable evening but overall, we felt it was rather expensive for what it is.
