Restaurant description

Set in one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages, The Slaughters Manor House is an idyllic countryside escape. The 17th-century house, which has earned 3 AA Rosettes, offers exceptional food its silk-lined, candlelit dining room.

In the tranquil dining room, guests will find an exceptional menu that continually changes, ensuring it is laden with seasonal ingredients. Coddled bantam with Cornish caviar and smoked eel might appear as one of the starters, while mains include the likes of monkfish loin or veal sirloin and smoked shin, all superbly presented.

Soak up the beautiful surroundings on the lawn with afternoon tea, of which there is a variety of different packages to suit every different desire. There is also a light bites menu consisting of sandwiches and salads, or dishes like linguine, and Thai-style seafood. A pre-dessert palate cleanser is always offered, to prepare you for the likes of blood orange soufflé with pistachio ice cream and crumble.

Private dining in front of the stone fireplace is also available in what is left of the chapel. Find this beautiful hideaway just 15 miles from central Cheltenham.

Beautiful surroundings, very nicely refurbished. Service friendly but a little confused I think most of the staff need training. One girl was very good had a slight accent and bobbed brown hair. The cream tea was very nice with exception of the sandwiches which were bit dry. Such a shame as its pricey so you expect it to be freshly cut. I asked about room prices and no one could tell me how much?!

Reception poor, we were ignored at first and then did not find the staff helpful, we got the take or leave it attitude. Did not think much of the sandwiches or cakes offered, the scones were ok

Outstanding food and good service. Had the festive tasting meal. Unfortunately there is NO atmosphere here- tables are around the edges, seats face inwards, lights are bright, everyone is whispering as quietly as they can, it was quite uncomfortable . Also rather pricey - I was given the more expensive drink when ordered without being advised of the price differences.

Excellent meal, lovely attention for details on the food .. Had complimentary dessert and glass of wine cause I have mentioned it was my birthday. Very impressed with the service and atmosphere! Have truly enjoyed my meal and would definetely recommend to family and friends. Price was very good value considering the effort and quality of ingredients put in into every dish.
