In one of the capital’s trendiest districts, This is a Coffee Shop (with cats) serves afternoon tea surrounded by resident felines.
Freshly prepared dishes on the menu are packed with organic ingredients. Savoury dishes include toasted rye and wholemeal bread drizzled with house-made garlic olive oil and topped with avocado smash, and the warm butter croissant with melted mozzarella and mild chilli cheese, topped with organic kimchi and grated parmesan. Desserts include carrot, pistachio and pomegranate cake, and an apple and almond studded cake with fresh vanilla beans, served with clotted cream.
As the name suggests, This is a Coffee Shop pride themselves on the quality of their coffee. All coffees have an espresso base that has been locally sourced, and are served in a laidback setting packed with books.
A stress-busting experience, this cat café in Shoreditch is found just 5 minutes’ walk from Old Street Station. Please note that This is a Coffee Shop (with cats) do not admit any child under 12.

I have nothing but praise for London Cat Village. I love the atomosphere inside the cafe and have been back multiple times! I have also been recommending the cafe to all my friends and family. The cats are all beautiful and each have different personalities. I love that they take the cats wellbeing into consideration and support the house rules. The staff are knowledgable and always very friendly, I can truly say they have added to my visits by being so wonderful.

This place was everything I expected and more. Conveniently located near Old Street, this tucked away, if-you-know-you-know coffee shop is a tastefully decorated, feline fantasy land. The cats are literally EVERYWHERE - and numerous in their different breeds and, of course, personalities. We counted fifteen cats at one point - so there is plenty of feline contact. The coffee is good, the cakes are delicious (order the vanilla cake), and the staff couldn't have been more open and friendly if they tried, you can tell they care about what they're doing which is just great. If it's the weekend, I'd definitely recommend booking a table and being on time for your booking, as demand obviously far exceeds supply. The music and vibes are super chill, and you leave as relaxed, satisfied cat and coffee enthusiast. Definitely a must-see for Shoreditch tourists and regulars alike.

A wonderfully unique, chilled and indulgent experience. Staff were polite, attentive and approachable. They were friendly and knowledgable about the products and cats.
The venue is beautiful with cosy decor. The food and drink were divine - sandwich, drink, cake and entry for around £21 which is really reasonable for the experience, artisan food and London prices.
The cats were well cared for, relaxed and confident in their own space. The house rules, which are perfectly reasonable and common sense, help maintain the balance of diner experience and cat welfare. I took a few friends for a 50th and we all loved it. The staff took the time to introduce us to some of the cats and coax them over to play. Their vegan chocolate cake is a must.

Booking was not made clear. I booked at 2pm for my birthday as this is the ideal afternoon tea time and I was going to be travelling from North Essex which is a very long way. At no point was I told that given my booking was at 2pm that I would have to be out by 3pm! Whilst the booking slot was an hour, it mentioned the option to extend which I was keen to do as like I said it was my birthday and myself and my friends had travelled from far and wide to be there and celebrate together. There were no clear details that explained that the cafe closed at 3pm. My train was delayed and so I couldn’t get there until 2:15, by the time we had settled, said our hellos, presents and drunk tea we went to order food and were told it was too late! The girl who dealt with me was lovely and very keen to try and help so none of this is her fault but the set up is really poor. I barely had any time there, only managed to drink one or two cups of tea and then was out on my ear! Starving hungry and not sure where to go! I think considering that I had to pay for the luxury of even sitting in the cafe, there should be more consideration given to the customer experience. I also don’t like that i was forced to stand in a cage whilst the house rules were barked at me, when I had already read them online (maybe you should get people to tick to say they have read them before the book?) it felt really unwelcoming and being exepected to wear plastic flip flops about 3 sizes too big is a massive health and safety risk! The place was gorgeous. The cats were beautiful and I would love to come back but not if I had the same experience. A little more thought is needed.

The cafe is very well situated in the popular Shoreditch/Hoxton area. It is fairly well run, but a tad overpriced. My friends and I felt that the cats were not that friendly, to the guests (us) or to each other. The strict rules of the owners, no touching the cats first, allowing them to come to you, is obviously meant for the comfort of the cats, but means that if a cat doesn't come up to you, which none of them did in our experience, you pay a lot for what is essentially a novelty experience, with no real interaction. The cats were rescue cats, which is good for them, however, they were not friendly and in my opinion, did not like humans. The two waitresses encouraged them to come up to people, but they had no interest.
Would not go again.

Very nice people. The food and drinks are great. The cats look happy and healthy. If you read the rules upfront on their website, you know what you can expect.
You cannot chase the cats nor pet them (only if they come to you) but this seems to be good for the rest and wellfare of the animals (and visitors).
