Was really looking forward to our meal as the restaurant was recommended by a friend. The starter squid was quite chewy. The main fish platter dish was so so plain. No dressing or flavour to it. It needed some sort of garlic sauce with herbs or something to go with it. And some nice herbs for decoration. Potatoes were served on the side - prefer it to be all on one plate. Fish and chips mains - fish was nice but the chips weren’t great, you need proper home done chips, these were like they weren’t even made in the restaurant. Didn’t taste fresh or anything. Tiniest bit of mushy peas with it. Desserts - okay selection, nothing that was lemony/citrusy on the menu though (quite a popular choice). Drinks - didn’t see any cocktails or non alcoholic drinks menu? Service - the lady we had was brilliant.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to you, food very good and service excellent. I had oysters and poached haddock whilst my partner had the smoked salmon and also the poached haddock. Nice surroundings. Certainly visit again - Thank you.

This was a very disappointing experience. We had booked to celebrate my sister’s 70th birthday. The service was slow, and we were told several dishes were ‘off’ including olives! When we tried to order a bottle of wine, out of the 8 white wines on the menu there were only two available! We did enjoy a nice bottle of Sancerre in the end. The food was very good when it came, and the waiter was very helpful. We ordered cheese, but when the two cheese plates came we just laughed! Each had three very small pieces of cheese, about one inch square! The waiter was very kind and went back to the kitchen and brought us some more! We had not asked for this, he was doing his best in difficult circumstances. Overall we gained the impression that the management was poor. Ordering had not happened, cash flow problems? But the staff did try their best. O
