Restaurant description

Arguably one of Wales’ most idyllic spots, Llanerch Vineyard offers refined British cuisine in a 5-star setting. Set within 22 acres of the lush Vale of Glamorgan, guests can look out over the picturesque grape-filled fields.

Offering classic dishes which bring sumptuous natural flavours to the fore, Llanerch Vineyard menu offerings include grilled market-fresh fish fillets, succulent duck leg with raspberry jus, or beetroot tart tatin with Welsh cheese. Desserts are made fresh on the premises, and change according to the season.

Sourcing bins from the Llanerch estate as well as further afield, the Llanerch Vineyard wine list offers a knowledgeably sourced, easy-to-understand selection. A celebrated list of regional cheeses complements the wine list perfectly, and guests are welcome to amble through the vineyard at their leisure.

The pride of this 5-star retreat, guests can enjoy dining on the summery patio during warmer weather, or in the homely Llanerch restaurant dining room. Central Pontyclun is an 8-minute drive away.

Beautiful environment and great safety measures in place, so felt comfortable. Staff are friendly and approachable. Sunday lunch was incredible, much bigger portions than I imagined, and enjoyed every part of it. The cauliflower cheese is to die for, and the beef and lamb were both cooked to perfection. Just wish I had room for desert! But we’ll definitely be back to sample the desert. Enjoyed my birthday lunch with you :)

Amazing food, friendly service and felt very safe with their covid safe set up. Lovely set up, I like how simple but elegant the setting is. Really like the waiters bringing all the food out on one tray, and the portion sizes are excellent. Really good value, and a very good wine list - impressed with the local choice.

Our experience of Llanerch Vineyard was mixed. The marque that we dined in lacked the quality and style I would have expected for the venue. Given the current situation with COVID, the set up was under certain guidelines which was expected but the décor, style and ambience of the dining space didn't match the presentation and quality of the food. The food tasted delicious and it was presented really well! The staff were polite and attentive.

I have dined at Llanerch Vineyard 3-4 times in the past and the food has been excellent. However, on Saturday the food was very poor. We ordered beef with mushroom and onions which should come with a rich gravy but instead came with, what tasted like a BBQ sauce, very bitter and completely ruined the meal. We had a cheese platter for dessert, this came with 2 tiny pieces of Brie and Stilton with tiny pieces of Bara Brith and chutney. This does not constitute a cheese board, there were no crackers or grapes, very poor. The meal was quite expensive which is no problem if it had been enjoyed but a lot was left.

We booked for an evening meal and arrived around half 6, by which time it was alright quite dark, the illuminated logo at the entrance makes for a great first impression. The temporary dinning area was a comfortable temperature and was matched by the warm welcome and walk to our table. The chair I initially sat on felt quite flimsy, and was replaced by a slightly less flimsy one. We tried the Cariad off-dry White wine, i'm not wine connoisseur so all I can say was that it was very enjoyable. I had the spiced pumpkin soup of the day to start which was pleasantly warming and very flavourful. For the main meal I had a wonderful rare sirloin steak with a peppercorn sauce. A slight complaint would be the duration of time between finishing and the bill arriving. We're tired parents out on a work night and wanted to get home, but as that's my only complaint, i'd say a great dinning experience overall. Really looking forward to eating here again.

Beautiful food especially the desserts! Fresh & large portions. Maybe a children’s menu would be an idea for the future.
