We came for lunch and enjoyed a delightful meal. The house wines (the grapes are grown just outside the window) are fabulous and suit the food perfectly, you can buy them to take home. The staff are helpful and friendly and help you make the most of your visit.

Arguably one of Wales’ most idyllic spots, Llanerch Vineyard offers refined British cuisine in a 5-star setting. Set within 22 acres of the lush Vale of Glamorgan, guests can look out over the picturesque grape-filled fields.

Offering classic dishes which bring sumptuous natural flavours to the fore, Llanerch Vineyard menu offerings include grilled market-fresh fish fillets, succulent duck leg with raspberry jus, or beetroot tart tatin with Welsh cheese. Desserts are made fresh on the premises, and change according to the season.

Sourcing bins from the Llanerch estate as well as further afield, the Llanerch Vineyard wine list offers a knowledgeably sourced, easy-to-understand selection. A celebrated list of regional cheeses complements the wine list perfectly, and guests are welcome to amble through the vineyard at their leisure.

The pride of this 5-star retreat, guests can enjoy dining on the summery patio during warmer weather, or in the homely Llanerch restaurant dining room. Central Pontyclun is an 8-minute drive away.

Friendly, attentive staff. Starter of mushrooms on sourdough only tasted of oil. The goose and the venison were well cooked however the accompanying goose roll was very dry. The roast potatoes had a tough exterior. We were so disappointed that we opted out of dessert. The floor was dirty around us and although staff once alerted to what was stuck on the floor proceeded to scrape away the mess, it was not conducive to a pleasant experience. We could have pointed out the other veg on the floor and the cobwebs and dust on the wooden lights, but were pleased not to be sitting beneath them.

Afternoon tea was absolutely stunning. The mini apple crumbles were out of this world.

We had the afternoon tea. This is the third time we have done this because my mother really enjoys it. The sandwiches are tasty and the cakes delicious. The staff helpfully swapped the chicken for another flavour for my wife who does not eat chicken.

As per usual the lunch menu was great, the service excellent and the Cariad wine fabulous.

Food choices were simple and well described, the wine list was well balanced with wines from around the world including Wales and wines available by the glass was a good idea. As it was a Sunday lunch I had the beef and was asked if wanted pink or well done, I asked for pink, it arrived more well done than pink but very tasty, the vegetables were enough but on our small table made it difficult to serve yourself. Dessert of sticky toffee was lovely, not to sweet and silky smooth ice cream was fabulous.
