Rare to find somewhere in the west end of this calibre. Friendly atmosphere, and staff on the ball. All the food was cooked to perfection, and plenty of it!

Booked a table at Livebait as a pre-dinner meal as they had a 17h30 seating and advertised what I thought was a good value for money, 2 courses for [$] or 3 courses for [$], or something like that. However, when we got there and were handed out the menus, there was no trace of a standard menu amd there was no main course less than [$] !In the end, the check came to [$] for 2, so hardly the cheap option I was expecting for a pre-theatre rushed meal. The food was nice but I think for that amount of money, I would have expected much nicer than that.

Great - Good fish. Service was very slow, but that suited us as we weren't in a hurry. Not so great -Cold coffee. Prosecco fizzed everywhere when it was opened, wasting a fair quantity and nearly splashing us. No apology until we mentioned it - then offered an extra glass free.

* Empty restaurant but kept waiting at 'reception' whilst the two guys chatted to each other. * Ordered drinks but took ages to arrive (there were more servers than diners.....) and water request forgotten * Fishcakes - not good * Smoked salmon - tiny, tiny portion * Battered cod - greasy and thick batter
