In the heart of London’s West End, Les Deux Salons is an all-day French Brasserie. The space comprises 2 rooms, the first-floor restaurant and the ground floor café, bistro and bar.

Based on classic regional French cooking, the menus draw inspiration from the great bistros and brasseries of Paris. With a background in Michelin-starred restaurants, the head chef focuses on using seasonal, high-quality ingredients, that only need a light touch to make them shine. All dishes are prepared, cooked and served without fuss. Strong flavours are enhanced, plentiful and in abundance.

The main restaurant is classically French yet not overly formal. The menu showcases superior ingredients including lobster, truffles, Dover sole, Anjou pigeon and seasonal game birds. The midweek lunch menu offers something a little lighter, whilst Sunday lunch offers an informal but delicious French feast.

The Les Deux Salons Bistro is all about French favourites. Joined by a classic wine selection, enjoy the likes of coq au vin, duck confit, or a moreish charcuterie board.

The vibrant copper clad lounge and bar, complete with mosaic marbled flooring and striking reclaimed opaline globe lights, provides a welcoming atmosphere for sampling the range of classic cocktails and craft beers.Private dining is also available, in the form of two oak-panelled rooms, bathed in natural light and overlooking William IV Street below.

Covent Garden’s Les Deux Salons restaurant is a short stroll from Trafalgar Square, Charing Cross and St Martin’s Lane, and is just a 4-minute walk from Leicester Square Tube Station. Its location in the heart of London’s West End makes it a firm favourite for pre and post theatre dining.

Good service, interesting menu, helpful information from waiting staff on menu items, tasty food although my colquiete was not spatchcocked as had been described and needed a sharper knife to dissect. Both starters were excellent (crab and gnochi) and the tart tatin for two was not only to die for but to die of - need to save space for that amount of pudding!

On a recommendation, I lunched here with a friend last week. It was a very poor experience.
Although on-line they advertised a £24 2-course fixed price menu, our waiter advised us that it was not available that day and pointed out the fixed price menu available from 5pm - so not much use to us.
The food was OK; we had the moules frites and the navarin d’agneau – neither was particularly special and I didn’t feel the lamb warranted its £21 price tag.
The waiter was very patronising throughout, bordering on rude and increasingly annoying. The final irritation was over the availability of brown sugar for our coffee - he told us they did not have any and suggested that I didn’t need it anyway because there was enough sugar in the mignardises accompanying my coffee! I insisted and surprise, surprise he found some!!
The postscript to this unfortunate experience is that I checked on-line when I returned home to find the £24 fixed price menu very much advertised as an everyday lunchtime offer. I spoke with a Manager and complained about this and the poor service and was offered a free glass of champagne on my next visit, a voucher to be emailed to me - still waiting!
My hot tip – if you want good French food, reasonably priced with exceptional service, go to Café Zedel off Piccadilly – Les Deux Salons have a lot to learn.

Food and wine 8-9 out of ten. Very good. Cost: high, too high for some of the wines. For instance there were wines too young to drink (2015) at high double figure prices per bottle. The only serious drawback was the acoustic. It is a very noisy space. There may be some relatively cheap means of taking the edge off the noise - table cloths? Curtains? Some ceiling treatment?

But all in all a good meal and an enjoyable experience.

Great prix fixe value for dinner. The rabbit however was so tough I had to send it back and they kindly gave me duck confit instead. Unfortunately we had two tables around us where the people had such loud voices we couldn't hear each other so we stopped speaking. Why does this continually happen in restaurants? What about having a quiet section like the quiet coach on trains? It is amazing how many people we know stop eating out because of the noise level. Can someone give me feedback on this please???

We were there for a pre theatre (7.30 pm) meal and while I did get my starter from a pre theatre menu, by 7 pm our mains still did not arrive, despite our prompting. My husband left hungry and myself not full either and we got our food from pret. Very strange, considering our booking was for 6pm and it did not look too busy either. Needless to say the rest of the evening was spoiled.

Pre-theatre offering very limited and has not changed in months. Service is very French (i.e. borderline rude). Food is perfectly adequate but does not live up to surrounding, which are very pleasant. Upstairs space is a white elephant.

Simply terrific. We had a pre-theatresupper of Crudités follwed by rabbit (lapin - it's a French retaurant) in a mustard sauce on Tagliatelli. Plus a half litre of red wine (so the writer didn't fall asleep during the performance).
