The Michelin-starred Restaurant Interlude in Horsham serves British cuisine led by Jean Delport and acclaimed South African chefs. In a grand manor house overlooking 200 acres of the luscious Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, the restaurant demonstrates unique plating with a tasting menu inspired by its own kitchen garden, local farmers and surroundings.
On the Restaurant Interlude menu, find ingredients from the gardens served in bulbous tumblers, mossy gardens or on stones, like the palate-cleansing meadowsweet and ginger beer pebble. Dishes pay homage to its chefs' South African connections with a mushroom and deer biltong taster.
Enjoy Restaurant Interlude’s ribbons of pumpkin pasta with pine mousse, while for dessert, try the sheep's milk sorbet with a delicate chocolate leaf. The interior’s luxurious patterned wallpaper and chandeliers over white-clothed tables, showcase the West Sussex restaurant’s fine dining style in the intimate drawing room.
The whimsical and unusual dining venture on an estate in Sussex serves tasting menus influenced by nature around them. Found in Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, Restaurant Interlude near Brighton is under 30 minutes from Horsham Station.

I went here on a date for my 21st Birthday. The building is stunning, and you enter through these fantastic grand gates. The staff were very friendly, and it was just us and one other couple so there was not much atmosphere but in a way that was also nice.
We had their signature G&Ts to start with which were divine, and so was all the food to follow. The waitresses were very knowledgable about the food they were serving us and could suggest wine pairings for each course.
The presentation of the food was fantastic and the taste was out of this world.
I would highly recommend the restaurant, but note you will need to leave a lot of space for the minimum of 15 taster courses that you will love!

From the minute we arrived at Leonardslee the staff made sure our day was one to remember. The tea was presented fantastically and tasted as good. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting something special.

Afternoon tea, classic and sparkling! ??. Delicious dainty sandwiches, savoury buns, then scones and cakes! Whew! Teapots renewed as often as we liked. Appreciated that beautiful surroundings and decor, friendly service, white table linen, pretty china, lovely outlook.

Totally amazing experience. To have food served that is 98 grown or reared on the land. The chef’s care and attention is second to none.

My sister and I enjoyed our afternoon tea very much. It was my birthday present to her as she celebrates her 80th birthday this weekend.
The atmosphere was great and the food delicious. It was a pity that we did not have much time t o look around the gardens as there had been an accident on our route which.meant taking a detour.
