Led by chef Jean Delport, Restaurant Interlude draws inspiration from Leonardslee Lakes & Garden’s own kitchen garden as well as local farmers. The contemporary restaurant offers a place for guests to interact with nature and eat from the land in an unexpected food journey. Set in the opulent drawing room, a traditional afternoon tea with a fun twist is served, with the 200 acre garden as a backdrop.

Wonderful welcome and ambience. Attentive and professional service. Superb and timely food, especially the patisserie items, and lovely presentation. Do not agree with including 12.5% tip on bill. Should be up to the patrons to determine their own level of tip. Card machine for payment problematic and would have been embarrassing had I been on business.

One of the best afternoon teas we have ever had.Great to have a savoury alternative

While my mother and I enjoyed the afternoon tea, we thought that it was not good value for money. I think that we could have been offered some additional sandwiches and the savory selection lacked flavor - we both closed our eyes and while the quiche did not have a soggy bottom, you would have no idea on the flavor. The service was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful - in particular Millie.
For the cost I think it was poor value and we have had afternoon tea at places like the Ritz and South Lodge which offer better value for money.

Wonderful setting, loved the self-playing piano in the foyer and how the building had been tastefully renovated.
The whole gardens & estate was beautiful.
We loved the mini apple dessert & the chocolate passion fruit was amazing.
The cheese puff had mixed reactions either loved or too strong/ rich and salty.
