Great pre theatre (Royal Albert Hall) eatery. Relaxed sharing plates dining, fantastic cocktails and wine. Service was spot on too.
If you want an informal meal with booze to line the stomach before a short walk to the Royal Albert Hall, look no further

On the edge of Hyde Park and a stone's throw from the Royal Albert Hall, Le Petit Sud is an intimate, laid back bistro and wine bar. Tastes of provincial France include a celebrated wine list, while at the front there is a bustling little al fresco area that is ideal for summer evening dining and drinks.
The Le Petit Sud menu showcases the finest in French and Mediterranean flavours, using seasonal imported produce. Charcuterie boards include goose rillette, Serrano ham and truffle salami, while the cheese selection features everything from roquefort to Tome de Savoie.
A superb wine list at Le Petit Sud in Kensington is always being added to, with the staff always on hand to make recommendations. There are also signature cocktails mixed up at the bar, and sweet treats to finish, such as apple tart.
Filled with a warm continental ambience, Le Petit Sud is a romantic spot to enjoy fine wine and cheese. High Street Kensington Tube Station is 9 minutes' walk away.

Service was very pleasant from the only visible member of staff a very courteous waiter. The small intimate surroundings away from the busy parade of shops along Gloucester Road was perfect for it's close proximity to the Royal Albert Hall where we were booked to see a show. We were seated on the ground floor of the premises though there was a casual restaurant area in the basement. We enjoyed a free glass of champagne with our meal. We shared whitebait (lukewarm rather than hot) and goats cheese salad. We then each had the mini desserts a very generous helping of around 8 pieces consisting amongst other things of macaroons fruit tarts chocolate brownies. Unfortunately the coffee machine wasn't working but we appreciated a pot of tea each rather than an anticipated cup.

Very odd experience on a Friday early evening. The waiter could not have been less interested if he tried. Naff American christmas carols playing in the background. Cheeseboard was lovely however. Won't be returning!

A quite nice place where to have a light dinner in a friendly and original environment before going to the Royal Albert Hall

very good atmosphere and delicious food and wine.. very friendly staff and a real treat. If I was being really really critical- can you have more comfortable seats? The high chairs are bit 'high' and a bit uncomfortable....other wise fantastic experience.....and food! Will be back more often...even with your high chairs :)
The wine selection was top notch....again can we have some more french wine please...no that I am complaining about the Languedoc!!

We had some excellent wine with some small bites at Le Petit Sad, before heading to the Royal Albert Hall. The atmosphere is uniquely cosy and different to London's many commercial restaurants. The staff was very friendly.

I love this little French place. The service is young relax and friendly. They know how to joke around and to please guests. A real little home away from home. Thanks for the 2 comp glass of red wine last Friday evening. Free wine tasting was much appreciated.
