A classic country pub, The Lazy Toad Inn Exeter has earned a place in the Michelin Guide with its hearty British and European menu. Housed in an 18th-century, Grade II-listed building, this character-packed pub also boasts a peaceful beer garden.

Favourites on The Lazy Toad menu include loin of pork with Jerusalem artichoke purée, salt-baked celeriac and red wine salsify, blue cheese and hazelnut tortellini with crispy kale, and classic fish and chips served with minted mushy peas and hand-cut chips. Amongst the indulgent desserts, savour glazed banana loaf with peanut butter ice cream, or lemon posset with passion fruit jelly and shortbread biscuit.

With open fires and original features, The Lazy Toad in Brampford Speke is a charmingly rustic venue serving English and international wines, and local ales. Sunday roasts are also a firm favourite.

The Lazy Toad Inn Devon sits in an idyllic village on the banks of the River Exe. Exeter is just a 15-minute drive away.

Excellent food, cosy interior. Lacking a little in atmosphere due to only a few other tables having dinner in the restaurant. Perhaps some background music on quiet nights would help. I would definately book again as the food was delicious.

Very good home made pub food. Good service in a relaxed setting. Very friendly people. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious!

Very pleasant surroundings, staff attentive and accommodating. Service was very good with all food/drinks brought to us timely and with a smile. The only negatives I can comment on was the menu was rather limiting and on a personal note, I would have much preferred a choice of steak cut as i never eat filter as a rule but as I had little choice, I certainly would have had a larger steak than a 5oz one as I do not believe it is sufficient for a adult man.
Overall, it was a good evening and my family and friends enjoyed the experience.

Second trip out here, and were happy we came back. Super lovely staff who were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Fabulous menu with their local suppliers on a chalk board along with some specials which made choosing hard as they were all very tempting. Dishes to suit all pallets and the portions were decent and well presented. Excellent.

We had a very nice peaceful meal in a lovely setting. Top marks. It was remarkably quiet for a Friday evening but that added to the enjoyment.

Lovely staff. Food disappointing. We had hummus followed by roast beef and pork. Hummus lacked flavour. Meat lacking flavour potatoes were tough rather than crispy Yorkshire very dry but vegetables and gravy were good. Good coffee and shortbread
