Nice Sunday Lunch -dogs allowed - really enjoyed the Tapas option. The outside area looked as though it would be a lovely place in warmer weather of course!

We had the Christmas menu (2 courses) which was very nice. Good, friendly service, not too busy.

Nice rural pub in small village. We were warmly welcomed and served at a midweek lunchtime. I had a vegetarian puff pastry pie, with celeriac, spinach, cheese and mushroom with vegetables. Tasty and well-cooked.

Visited The Lazy Toad for lunch with my brother and his daughter today, along with one well behaved doggie.

From the outset I knew this would be a great venue. Car park nice and tidy, outside of the building well maintained and a beautiful outdoor seating area.

As soon as we walked through the traditional oak door we were greeted with a friendly smile and warm hello. Our booking was recognised without having to consult any diaries and we were seated in the bar area which was very well kept and stocked with a wonderful variety of whiskies.

Our host, Janice, brought over menus and took the drinks order. Drinks arrived quickly and we made our choice from the delicious lunch menu (not an easy choice as all of it looked wonderful) - we went for the beef and gravy sandwiches, served with skinny chips and salad. Child chose sausage, mash and peas plus imaginary fish bites for her teddy bear, which was noted on the order sheet.

Food only took about 10 minutes to arrive and boy was it good! Doorsteps of fresh bread, practically half a cow between, perfectly cooked and a delicious red wine gravy. Accompanied by perfectly cooked chips. I was full by the first half of the sandwich and Janice kindly offered to box up the other half of our sandwiches to take home for later (feasting on that now!)

Janice also offered our doglet treats and a bowl of water, going the extra mile and giving warm and friendly customer service with genuine care.

We indulged in pudding (rude not to!) which was equally delicious and freshly prepared.

We left with a warm fuzzy, very relaxed and happy feeling.

If you're looking for a country pub without the hustle and bustle but fine traditional dining then The Lazy Toad ticks all of the boxes, I'll be returning again and again for family meals and celebrations :-)
