Restaurant description

One of the West End's most desirable restaurants, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon serves simple yet exquisite French cuisine courtesy of multi-award-winning Joël Robuchon. This Soho restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star and 3 AA Rosettes.

Influenced by Japanese restaurants, the layout of L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon encourages an engaging dining experience. The eating counter surrounds the open kitchen on the ground floor, inviting diners to converse with the chefs whilst watching them prepare their meal. Unique to Joël Robuchon's London restaurant, you can also interact with other diners whilst sitting opposite each other. A more conventional restaurant setting can be found in La Cuisine on the first floor, where the experience is similar to dining in the kitchen itself.

Within short walking distance of Covent Garden and Leicester Square underground stations, the Soho setting of this internationally acclaimed restaurant makes it perfect for a pre or post-theatre meal in the West End of London. Nearby theatres around this restaurant include the New Ambassador's Theatre, Piccadilly Theatre, Palace Theatre and London Arts Theatre. The comfortable, stylish ambience makes L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon an ideal restaurant in Covent Garden for romantic meals, business dining and special occasions. Valet parking is available and a smart casual dress code is operated (no shorts or trainers).

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

Delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. Sat at the counter you can enjoy great food and service while you watch the incredible chefs at work. The £45 four course (plus a glass of Veuve, amuse bouche and petits fours) is incredible value. Glasses of great wine start from £9 so not breaking the bank. Felt very special for my wife’s birthday but didn’t leave a sour taste caused by an eye watering bill!

Great evening from start to finish. We sat at the bar, which in the end both preferred as we could see the open kitchen l, along with all the hard work and preparation by the chef's making each dish. 5 courses, plus a glass of good champagne and coffee & chocolates! fantastic value for money for very high standard of food. Staff were faultless and restaurant was very inviting. Highly recommend a visit.

The ambience, service and food in L'Atelier was faultless. Squid&chorizo starter, quail&truffle mash main and Brazilian chocolate dessert were out of this world. Restaurant is suitable for rather small parties up to 4 guests due to it's size. Seats are available at the bar, where guests can see chef's working with precision each individual dish. I appreciated that main course was accompanied by extra bowl of mash per guest at no extra cost. Most of fancy restaurants expect you to pay extra for sides which should be part of the dish, what I found ridiculous. We were leaving totally satisfied. Occassion was 17th Birthdays of my son and he have received a mini cake , candle and plate with chocolate wish....without my reminder.... I would definitely return to L'Atelier for marvelous food ecperience
