We had a lovely time at the Larder Restaurant for afternoon tea. However, a couple of points worth mentioning were that the staff didn't check in with us regularly enough to see if we wanted a top up of our teas wnd and coffees. Also I was a bit disappointed that both the tea and coffee were searved to us luke warm at best (definitely not freshly boiled water), and given that the restaurant wasn't busy I felt that there was no excuse for that. A nice day was had but there were improvements to be made.

Friendly and efficient service. My wife and I really enjoyed our meal, and looking forward to visiting again next month.

The restaurant wasn't open for lunch so we dined the their bar area. I went there with my husband to celebrate my father in law'school 93rd birthday. The cooked salmon x 2 and the meat and alert pie x1 was delicious along with the cheese cake x1 Served by Gyles.....he made us all feel welcomed and very relaxed, nothing was too much trouble.

Limited menu and fairly pricey however the food was excellent and using the Tastecard made it good value for money.

The service was great, the food was lovely and the surroundings were a joy to view. My order of no sauces in one set of sandwiches was carried out to perfection. Plenty of sandwiches and cakes to not leave you feeling hungry.

I had booked afternoon tea as a surprise for my mum as she is getting married next week. We was very disappointed with the selection of sandwiches and cakes. They were very dry and the sandwiches felt like they had been left out for ages. The cakes were very big and we thought that they should of been smaller with more choice. As it was easter we had to pay extra but I didn't see what we paid extra for.

i would recommend it only if someone wanted somewhere to eat on a low budget. I didn't realise the Afternoon tea was only £12.00 - so I guess for the price it was OKish but the sandwiches did look rather Spartan. The waiting staff were very good but their aprons were dirty. I am sorry to sound so negative but if I would just go to the bar if I went back to that particular Hilton again.
