In an exclusive hotel setting, 14TWELVE Brassiere & Bar serves honest British cuisine. Expansive windows to the front look out onto the hotel grounds, and quirky country house-style décor is dotted throughout the dining room.

Sourcing premium British produce and changing with the seasons, 14TWELVE menu dishes may include woodland mushroom risotto with parmesan crisp, or sea bass with crushed potatoes and lemon butter. An excellent Sunday roast offering draws in a faithful following at Larder Restaurant in Swindon.

Breakfasts are made using a wholesome stock of ingredients, and a diverse children’s menu is offered for younger diners. In the plush bar area, Larder guests can enjoy cool, freshly-shaken cocktails and a sophisticated wine list.

14TWELVE Restaurant is a 10-minute drive from central Swindon, and the landmark Lydiard House is a 5-minute drive away.

Restaurant was closed due to a problem, we were not informed. We then were seated in the bar area in sofa seats with a very limited menu. This was mother’s day and a very expensive bar meal

A friend and I came here for her birthday for afternoon tea. We couldn't fault the afternoon tea that we received as it was really lovely. It was nice and quiet considering it was a Friday and we were greeted with polite and attentive staff. We look forward to returning in the future.

Went for a "Champagne afternoon tea for two" ( a 6oth birthday gift). The staff who welcomed and served us were all pleasant and polite. Lovely and clean environment. Good selection of finger sandwiches and cakes, all delicious but my favourite was the strawberry tart and the chocolate cup filled with cream. My friend is gluten free and vegetarian and the Hilton accommodated her dietary needs. She said it was the tastiest gluten free bread and best cheesecake she had eaten. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Beautiful evening meal in The Larder. Menu choices were excellent (not too few or too many choices). All courses ordered were delicious and very high quality. The serving staff were very attentive and pleasant, in particular, the very young gentleman who took excellent care of us.

The only negative comment I have to make is at 9.15pm as we were having our final course, we could barely hear ourselves speak because of the noise nearby due to waiting staff sorting out cutlery to prepare for breakfast set up and being very noisy too setting the tables. Could they not sort cutlery in the kitchen or adjacent room so diners do not have to try and speak over the din of banging cutlery & crockery when resetting the tables?

Despite the latter part of our meal being interrupted by the din, overall we had a very pleasant evening and when back in Swindon will visit The Larder again.

We ordered for the a la carte menu, couldn't find fault. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavours of the roasted vegetables complemented it perfectly. They did forget to give us steak knives though! The duck breast/pulled duck platter was delicious! Pudding appeared homemade and very tasty. Their house wine was good quality too.
