Awarded Three AA Rosettes and recommended by the Via Michelin guide for its innovative menu, Mulberry Restaurant in Horley, Surrey provides first class service in charming, modern surroundings overlooking award-winning gardens which play host to seasonal blooms throughout the year.

Using only the finest produce and where possible locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, Executive Head Chef Phil Dixon and his brigade pay homage to time-honoured British cuisine, infusing each dish with a contemporary twist and complementing every meal with a selection from the world class wine list, featuring more than 140 bins. The hotel vegetable patch and herb garden is in full use by the chefs and produces year-round fresh crops, including onions, garlic, kale, broccoli turnips, beans, fresh salad, raspberries, gooseberries and much more. Pruned and maintained by the chefs, the vegetable patch is showcased in their dishes.

A traditional Afternoon Tea is served daily in the lounges or taken al fresco on the beautiful sunny terrace. Guests can savour homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, finger sandwiches and homemade cakes and pastries, served alongside cafetière coffee and Metrodeco fine loose leaf tea. For something a little different, indulge in the gin and tonic afternoon tea, a perfect indulgence to while away a relaxing afternoon.

Stopped for afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary. Really enjoyable. Nice champagne. Food good but not too much so did not feel too full afterwards. Sometimes restaurants overload afternoon tea and if you feel obliged to eat up. Quantities were just right. The only thing I noticed was that the room had been refurbished and unfortunately looked slightly corporate. Langshott Manor is a beautiful Elizabethan listed building so I felt that the furnishings should reflect that. Perhaps put period pictures on the walls rather than "modern" ones. I am sure reproduction paintings, portraits and furniture can be found cost effectively. I think Langshott should make the most of the building and think carefully when they upgrade the furniture and pictures. If I want modern I can go to one of the chain hotels, where everything looks the same. This won't put me off returning as we like the place and the food, but just a small point I noticed when we were there recently.

As usual we had a great meal in lovely surroundings. The food was well cooked and presented by staff who were always there but never over attentive

standard of meal was as expected. Staff were very friendly and helpful in advising us about various meals on offer. Very relaxed atmosphere in restaurant. Really enjoyed crab tartlet as starter. Beef was really nice but nothing out of ordinary. enjoyed cheesecake.

The dining room is very nice, the food is OK for the price and the service was fine until the end. We ordered coffee but had to give up as this never arrived for over 20 minutes and nobody seemed that interested in checking that we were being looked after. There was a reluctant apology when we came to pay and explained the error. I had expected that they would at least offer that we could take coffee in the lounge. Overall , not a great experience given the star rating of the hotel.

We had a fabulous overnight stay at the Manor House. The quality of the food and service in the Mulberry Restaurant were excellent. The fine wine to accompany the menu and the way the food was presented were also excellent. The hearty breakfast the next morning was a welcome start before our long flight ahead. We had time for a "real" pot of tea before heading for the airport. Our stay overnight was very relaxing and an enjoyable start before our trip to New York. We will definitely stay again.
