The service was very efficient and friendly. The size of portions for everything was just right for an afternoon tea. The only thing I would say is the tea was not very hot.

We booked a table at the hotel for the occasion of our daughter's birthday. We wanted to take her somewhere special and although the food was very good, the level of service was not and this resulted in a very disappointing evening. Our party of 3 were put in a separate room on our own and although another table joined us after 45 minutes, we did feel very abandoned. We were not checked on at all and waited a long time for bread to be brought through and had to fill our own wine glasses and water glasses. After the meal we went through to the lounge area and hoped that someone would come and check if we wanted coffees or after dinner drinks. No one came and after 30 minutes we had to find someone to ask for the bill and a taxi. We left feeling that our special night was really not so special and will not be returning.

Disappointing! We were kept waiting for over half an hour with no where for elderly mums to sit. We were in a pokey lounge out of the way, not in the Mulberry Restaurant as expected and therefore service was a bit on the slow side as we had to wait for the staff to remember we were there! I was disappointed for both Mum's and will not be returning.

Pleasant enough afternoon tea, although slightly disappointed that we were only offered top ups of drinks and not sandwiches. I felt that the selection of sandwiches was quite poor, and would have liked to swap the tuna for something else but were unable to get the attention of the waiting staff. It was also difficult to find out if any of the food contained raw egg and took about 3 people to come up with an answer. Disappointed to be slapped with a 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill.

The restaurant lacked any character, there was no view, the food lacked imagination and was certainly not worth the money. We will not be returning. Very disappointing!

Stopped for afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary. Really enjoyable. Nice champagne. Food good but not too much so did not feel too full afterwards. Sometimes restaurants overload afternoon tea and if you feel obliged to eat up. Quantities were just right. The only thing I noticed was that the room had been refurbished and unfortunately looked slightly corporate. Langshott Manor is a beautiful Elizabethan listed building so I felt that the furnishings should reflect that. Perhaps put period pictures on the walls rather than "modern" ones. I am sure reproduction paintings, portraits and furniture can be found cost effectively. I think Langshott should make the most of the building and think carefully when they upgrade the furniture and pictures. If I want modern I can go to one of the chain hotels, where everything looks the same. This won't put me off returning as we like the place and the food, but just a small point I noticed when we were there recently.
