Within walking distance of Notting Hill, Portobello Market, Marble Arch and located just off Hyde Park, Café Forty One at La Suite West Hotel offers a unique vegan dining experience showcasing delicious and inspired vegan cuisine that defies the stereotypes surrounding plant-based food.

Café Forty One offers a deliciously unique vegan twist on classic dishes. A crossroad between luxury dining and café style ambiance, menus focus on seasonal, fresh and sustainable ingredients for breakfast, lunch, all-day dessert and afternoon tea. At the heart of the Café are contemporary vegan alternatives to French pâtisserie favourites.

The Café Forty One menu features British, Asian and French dishes with vegan twists, such as citrus-smoked ‘salmon’ and pomegranate salad, mushroom bourgignon pie and mash, and Asian slaw salad with buttery breaded shimeji mushrooms. The first vegan French pâtisserie in London, delicate desserts include interpretations of French strawberry tart, melt-in-your-mouth millefeuilles, and pavlova with fresh passionfruit, whilst the French Patisserie Afternoon Tea is an alternative to the great British tradition, with artisan sandwiches joined by scones and coconut cream, and a choice of non-alcoholic fizz, teas, juices and mocktails.

Set in the minimalist La Suite West boutique hotel in a busy area of London, the restaurant is sleek, elegant and opens up onto the hotel’s elegant garden terrace which is ideal for al fresco dining. La Suite West is a 2-minute walk from Bayswater Tube Station, a 3-minute walk from Queensway Tube Station and just one stop on the tube from Paddington Station.

Friendly welcome and was curious to try something else sadly the food was not up to others, strange combinations but all really dry.

I enjoyed the vegan tea at Cafe Forty One, but the food was only mediocre.

I really enjoyed my afternoon tea at Cafe Forty one. The sweet desserts were absolutely delicious and the scones were melt in the mouth - the friend I was with couldn’t believe they were vegan! The sandwich fillings were very nice but we both did not like the choice of bread, especially for the BLT style sandwich as it was very hard and honestly not good at all. The outside was gorgeous but because of the rain we had to sit indoors which was nice but quite dark. Overall a good experience if the bread was different it would have been a five star afternoon tea!

We ended up having the afternoon tea as it was my mothers birthday and we were overjoyed! I also had an almond iced coffee which was amazing.
Each item was delicious and moreish. The lemon meringue was by far our favourite and we have told so many people about it so we will be coming back! The staff are lovely and very attentive.

My fiancé and I booked afternoon tea at Cafe Forty One to celebrate our 7 year anniversary this week. We sat outside underneath the trees which provided lots of shade and really enjoyed our food! The 'salmon' and cream cheese sandwich was divine ( my favourite ) and my partner also enjoyed the 'bacon' sandwich. The scones were delicious as was the jam and cream that came with it. As a vegan it was super exciting to be able to sample so many sweet treats and I enjoyed them all. I also really enjoyed the tea I had , I know it began with C but I cannot recall the name !
The cafe is very new and considering they have been open just a few weeks the service and food was lovely. I cannot remember the name of the waitress who served us but she was very attentive to everyone who was dining.
I'm looking forward to returning in the winter and enjoying the pie with mash and a cheeky patisserie for dessert !
Keep it up , so exciting to have such a lovely vegan cafe open up in London :))

The food was excellent, and the price was great. Only thing I think could be better is that they should change your plates in between tiers. After eating the scones my plate was cover in jelly and clotted cream. I cleaned it off myself, but that would’ve been better service. Especially since we were the only once’s there at that time. Further it was a great experience 8/10!
