Very good. Every item of food, service, ambience was well up to expectations for fine dining, if not quite Michelin Star.

In a former Sussex farmhouse, La Rive is a charming Italian restaurant. Dine in the rustic La Rive dining room, or in the heated Italian garden, through which the River Mole flows.

With its modern take on Mediterranean cuisine, the La Rive menu offers mouthwatering dishes such as Provencal beef tartare and red mullet in saffron and honey glazed pork. It is all served in a relaxed setting, complete with a romantic conservatory and a garden with stunning views over the River Mole. Head chef Eric Payet forged his skills at Michelin starred Putney Bridge and Club Gascon, and was hand-picked for La Rive to bring a gastronomic brilliance to Surrey.

At the top of Cobham's picturesque High Street, La Capanna is just a 4-minute drive to Cobham Rail Station, and a 2-minute stroll from the scenic Cobham Park.

I had the set lunch but thought it to be expensive and not value for money.

Lovely venue ( high ceiling, wooden beams) with tables well spaced. Service excellent and friendly. Provided me with an extra vegetarian option on request - even though no notice given! Food good, imaginative and attractively presented. Home made bread was exceptional! Only negative is that they sell foie gras - which I don't like in this day and age for animal welfare reasons..

The food was spectacularly good. The service was excellent. The restaurant itself is beautiful. However I struggle with the pricing and the portion sizes in relation to that pricing. Did we are good experience? Yes. Will we return? Yes, but at a time when there is an immediately available alternative to the binary 4 courses prix fixe or somewhat passe tasting menu. I am sure that as the restaurant learns to adapt, then it will become a roaring success.

Food tasted of nothing! Poor quality ingredients, cooked badly.

The service was so pretentious, we found ourselves struggling not to laugh.

Then to top it off, when we received the bill we felt like we had been robbed, £500 for 4 people!!! I would have preferred to have eaten in a Michelin star restaurant, with nice food, good service and had change from £500.

A place to avoid at all costs!

Awful. Food minimalist and mediocre but horrendously expensive for both food and wine .

I booked a table for lunch for my mother and I.It was her 93rd birthday. we used to visit Lacapanna often. The staff were curteous and the decor has been improved. However we decided not to have the 3 course set menu as we only wanted a main course. we were very disappointed with the plates of food especially for 30 gbp each. I complained about my suckling pig as there as so little of it and large lumps of inedible pig fat on the plate. Tosay we were disappointed is an under statement.
