This restaurant truly gets an A+ for effort - the attention to detail was remarkable. The food however, which was clearly designed to impress - somehow missed the mark. The tastes were subtle, understated, almost hidden behind the fresh vegetables and elegant sauces. Perhaps my palate just needs more obvious adventures... .

Buzzy, vibrant, proper home cooked Italian food. Portions were surprisingly large, and the pasta is the best I’ve ever had. We started with the lightest freshest minestrone soup I’ve ever had, along with a crab salad. We tried a bolognese, and a paccheri with n’duja, burrata and tomato, which were outstanding. Some had the lamb chops and the rib eye, both tender and perfectly cooked. Two courses plus lots of wine came to a reasonable £64 a head. Can’t wait to go tback!

Our New Year’s Eve prix fixe dinner at La Collina was the finest meal we had on our trip to London. The choices were excellent. Everything was fresh and savory; the osso bucco deserves special mention, as do the many varieties of homemade pasta. Even the desserts were unusual and outstanding. Patrick was a gracious host who made sure everything was just right.

Good food, good service. Quite expensive, and maybe lacked a little ambience, but no real complaints
